Caretaker Joh takes pride in keeping and improving the grounds at Cominos House. The room itself has never looked better too. The Secretary is a pleasure to deal with as well. A great space to celebrate any function. The attached photo is of a live music event by Blue Reed band, which was then followed by Argentine Tango dancing. Look up Tango Bliss Cairns on Facebook if you would like to try this wonderful dance on Saturday nights.

Over the past few months the grounds around Caminos House have improved,looking colourful, clean, and tidy.
Inside the house, it feels clean and welcoming. The added paintings on the walls are a credit to our talented artists of Cairns. The caretaker must feel proud of his work and the improvements made.
I am very happy to spend my Sunday evenings at Cominos House dancing the Argentine Tango..

What a beautiful space to hold our event in. Clean, well looked after, all the facilities you could need and surrounded with a tropical garden and lovely outlook. Plenty of parking and easy to access. TV with HDMI, kitchen with all the bits, comfortable chairs, plenty of tables, it had everything we need - and air con!!!
The online booking system was a breeze to use and the communications with us leading up to the event was just enough. I am so grateful we have a facility like this in Cairns for the community to utilise. There are not as many as people might think. A perfect place our AGM with people online and in the room. Thank you

Perfect venue for seated meal for 55 people. Air-con was icey, outdoor shaded areas lovely, kitchen and general layout beautifully functional. We will be back!

Cairns and Community Dementia Carers Support Group have been hiring this beautiful old Queenslander every Wednesday morning fortnightly, for approximately the past 3 years.

From the first day Joh became the new caretaker ( maybe 8-10 months ago?) we have noticed how much improvement he has made to the property.
His main goal was probably settling into his new accommodation which I think was probably a major complete deep clean.

The gardens were started first and continue to have something new, exciting and unusual to see. Each visit.
The grounds are always clean and free of debris before we arrive.
Yesterday we arrived to the cleanest windows and saw that the exterior of the whole building had been completely cleaned top to bottom.
Bathrooms could do with a paint job but are always clean and tidy.
He’s doing a fantastic job and this has certainly not gone unnoticed. By our group!!

Lovely guy, great people skills and always wanting to please.

Would love if he could get more support to upgrade the kitchen
facilities and maybe better window coverings.
