I recently had lunch at Zingertaj Indian Restaurant, and it was a fantastic experience. The food was exceptional, bursting with vibrant flavors and aromatic spices.

I started with crispy samosas filled with spiced potatoes and peas, which were a perfect appetizer. For the main course, I had the butter chicken; the tender pieces of chicken in a rich, creamy tomato sauce were absolutely delicious. The naan was fluffy and ideal for dipping.

The biryani was a standout, fragrant with saffron and packed with tender meat and vegetables. I wrapped up the meal with a refreshing mango lassi that balanced the spices beautifully. The warm and inviting atmosphere made the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend Zingertaj for anyone craving authentic Indian cuisine!

Used a Groupon voucher here last night and was very impressed.
Firstly the waitress was very friendly, great service from her.
The food was all really nice, honestly one of the best butter chicken I've ever had anywhere, so creamy. 5/5 for the food.
Only thing is the included 'bottle' of wine came poured in a jug, never seen this at any restaurant in my life.
Just bring out the whole bottle otherwise people will think you're mixing random wines in the back.
If it wasn't for that, this would have been 5-star.

I've been to many Indian Restaurants.

Cons:
- Only 1 family came before us, otherwise the restaurant was empty. But yet took 40 minutes for the food to arrive.

- Deficit of meat in dishes.

- Butter chicken: deficient in meat, and tasted too creamy

- Tandoori chicken: lacked flavour; not marinated long enough

Pros:
- Was given a brand new dish after complaining about the lack of meat
- Garlic Naan was great
- Nice staff

We had great expectations coming to this place. They have patra ni macchi and dhansak on the menu, very hard to find Parsi food like this in Sydney.
Sadly the food is very variable. Their chicken tikka was excellent, their Parsi food a total flop. The fish in banana leaf (patra no macchi) was smothered in cheese making the taste of the green chutney irrelevant, nothing at all like it should be, no cheese!!!!
The dhansak lamb was chewy and over cooked but the lentils with it were raw, absolutely awful. I could have cooked it better.
The service was also awful, despite only us and one other couple being there!
When we tried to give some useful tips, no apologies just “that is what the menu says”.
Sorry but we will never be back .

Updated review (Jan2023) - recently visited there with the family and the food was once again fantastic. The staff is very friendly, we had asked for tava roti(not on the menu), and they honoured our request. The chef came out to see if food was ok, we spoke for a bit, he was great. Everything we ordered tasted excellent and presented beautifully.

Review from 2020 - Got a pretty sweet deal on their specials. 4 course lunch meal for two w/ glass of wine exceeded our expectations. Papadams w/ mango chutney to start with; chicken tikka and sheek kebab for appetisers; mains was chicken tikka masala n goat curry accompanied by garlic naan and saffron rice. Mango n pistachio kulfi for dessert (forgot to take pics). Everything was super tasty, presented well and in good portion. Recommend this place to anyone craving for good Indian food?

I have given enough opportunities to this restaurant despite their poor service each time. However, I am never going back to this place again. I went to dine in on a Tue night at 8:00 PM and they said they cannot serve nor do a take away and it was just 8:00 PM, they close at 9:30 PM. They werent even courteous enough to give us a reason and kept talking from their kitchen. Earlier experiences were rushed, the servers would keep asking us to order in a rushed manner and it feels like they do not want Indians to visit their restaurant. Pathetic, never will i ever go back to Zinger Taj.

We came to Z.T. with a four-person Groupon voucher (cost $95). For that, we got one drink each (red or white wine or a soft drink) two shared starters, one main course each, a bowl of rice, a serve of naan bread and one dessert each. Portion sizes were generous and you get to choose from a small, specially-designed Groupon menu: A useful idea, because it sets out exactly what you can and can’t have, and prevents disputes and disagreements, which sometimes occur with Groupon deals.

Being a Groupon menu though, choices are limited, but there was enough to keep us all happy, including our vegetarian friend. We choose samosas and onion bajji for entrees, and for mains, butter chicken, saagwala lamb, two veg dishes, plus the rice and plain naan. And for dessert, what else but our fav gulab jamun, and mango kulfi ice cream. Everything was fresh, tasty and delicious. Only complaint was that wine glasses were only half-filled! Come on guys, you’ve probably bought the bottles at a few dollars each, so just fill the glasses to the top.

Service was friendly, efficient and polite, but these guys aren’t pro-active so you need to signal to them when you want something. Still, everything came out reasonably quickly and in the correct order. Ambience on a fairly quiet Sunday night just before Christmas was relaxed and laid back. We had a nice table inside, at the window, looking out towards Blues Point Rd.

Chairs were comfy but the table was small and cramped and we struggled to fit all the dishes. As the place was probably only about 60% full, we had no trouble conversing.

Toilets are out the back, past the kitchen. There are separate male and female cubicles and they’re reasonably clean and well provisioned, just not in the best spot.

Booking was easy, via a link on the Groupon website, which you can access immediately your purchase is confirmed. We were only given two options for a Sunday night i.e. 5.30pm or 8pm, neither of which really suited us, so we booked it for 8pm, then called them up a few days before and asked if we could come at 6.30pm and that presented no problem. However, with all Groupon deals, it’s best to check availability before you purchase, then make your booking straightaway.

There’s plenty of parking either on Blues Point Rd or down nearby King George Road, and there are no weekend restrictions, so that was a pleasure.

Overall, we had a excellent meal in a pleasant and relaxed ambience, and at $95 for four people, it represents outstanding value for money.
