My partner had some confusion with membership cancellation, and membership didn't get cancelled. Paid extra $800 for membership that she didn't use for 8 months.

The owner/principal knows that she left the country for a year at least and didn't attend any class. Threatening with T&C and defamation over technicalities feel quite aggressive and predatory. That feels pretty rough and scary for a local yoga studio.

I mean, she managed to score a free $800 from a struggling family. Could be more humane and at least spare us mental pain.

(Update 2 - response to Owner): We emailed you in January notifying you of her moving. Also, from your latest email "As far as we were concerned you had moved to Korea and we had no reason to give any further attention..."
This review is my honest opinion based on facts only AFAIK. You may dispute review through Google if you can support the removal of this review.

(Update 3) Forgot to mention the pure greed. Reached out on Sunday, and the owner still took the last payment of $30 quoting T&C on Monday, although we mentioned we haven't been to the studio for more than 6 months. Yeah, small show of goodwill came on top of taking another $30 dollar payment on the same day.

I've been going to Zen yoga for over 2 years now and would definitely recommend this place. Clean, peaceful, convenient studio located near the flower market in Rocklea. The owner, Jana is very welcoming and dedicated. Worth trying different yoga classes as styles and fitness requirements vary a lot between teachers. From high energy flow with the mighty Huong and bendy Iris, to more in-depth meditative practices with Brianna and Tanya, and anywhere in between.

I have been going to Zen Hot Yoga for around 3 years now and I absolutely love it. When I first started going to the studio I was only going twice a week, but ended up loving it so much that I now go 4-5 times a week. There is a lovely calming tranquility to the studio with it's beautiful polished wood floors and soft lighting. Zen offers a variety of instructors and classes ranging from beginners to classes that will challenge the hardcore yogis out there. In addition the timetabling fits in great with both those that work business hours Monday to Friday and parents needing to take their kids to school. Best of all you don't need to book for the classes, just turn up, scan in and you're good to go. The benefits I've gained from going to Zen Hot yoga include not only the increased strength, flexibility and endurance, but the calmness and relaxation you feel at the end of a class which continues long after you leave the studio.

I have been searching for a good place to learn yoga and would definitely recommend this place to my friends because of the ambience, quality of service and teachers that have made my yoga learning experience a great one. Thank you Zen Hot Yoga for providing such a great yoga studio. Compared to other hot yoga in Brisbane, Zen's hot yoga is gentler but you still get to sweat a lot! Every class is unique and not repetitive. Doing yoga in Zen has helped release my stress from studies and I can concentrate better after each class! They also have these detox box that act like sauna. I simply love to have my detox after yoga because it makes me feel lighter and more relaxed.

Pilates is a must-try if you want to tone your muscles and abdomen. I tried once and it was really a nice workout! Will definitely go back for more after exam!

Fantastic studio with great teachers, good prices and a range of classes that is diverse and caters for a range of abilities. I have a hip condition that can make yoga challenging but the teachers are always happy to chat to me before the class and offer alternatives to challenging poses. Great find 🙂

Going for Yoga and Pilates has definitely been a great experience for me. Not only do i improve in my flexibility and core strength but also to have a good night's sleep. I love the heat that is 7 times more detoxing than normal sauna which gives a comfortable kind of sweat as well as a good feeling of an awesome workout. I sense that I become stronger and more refreshed to get on the day. A definite must try for everyone.

I had a membership here prior to COVID and was considering rejoining but the class times are really terrible. I like the hot yoga and would only be able to do one per week because most days they're at 430pm. Clearly targeted towards wealthy people who barely work, because who else could get to yoga by 430pm on a weekday? Shame because it is such a nice studio and I miss going.
