Long story short... wanted to book a massage via email. After whole conversation via email have decided to cancel my booking as I didn't want to experience same low quality service on massage table as I received from their customer service people via email. Ended up with the advice that I am looking on the current situation from the wrong side. Well, I am looking on it from the customer point of view, therefore not recommend to go.

I recently had a Reiki healing session with Kayo at Zen Day Spa, and I can't express how transformative the experience was for me. After losing my brother, I’ve been grappling with overwhelming stress and sorrow, and I felt like I needed some guidance and healing.

Kayo’s calming presence and intuitive approach made me feel at ease right from the start. During the session, I could genuinely feel the energy shift, and it was as if a weight was being lifted from my heart. The experience helped me release some of the grief I’ve been holding onto, allowing me to find a sense of peace I hadn’t felt in quite some time.

I left feeling lighter, more centered, and with a renewed sense of hope. Kayo’s skills and compassion are truly remarkable. If you’re looking for a healing experience that can help you navigate through tough emotions, I highly recommend visiting Kayo at Zen Day Spa. Thank you, Kayo, for your incredible support during this challenging time!

Had the best hot oil massage today at Zen with their senior therapist Kayo. Definitely coming back to try her Reiki healing treatment. Highly recommend!

Zen Spa Review – Hens Day (2019.11.10)
I’ve visited Day Spas before, so I had some expectations. I don’t really set any high expectation especially on places that I have never been before.
At first glance the place seems nice. The Front desk was nice and tidy with all their products displayed. The staff greeted you pleasantly as you entered the premises and they led you to the waiting area.

The waiting area was very small and slightly uncomfortable seating. We completed a form which asks which part of the body needs to be focused on during the massage. Although this seems to be a great idea whilst filling in the form, I very much doubt the masseuse even bothered to read this.

As I entered my designated room, I can only sense the overwhelmingly smallness of the space. I can barely fit on the remaining space. And I’m not a big woman! As the massage started, my whole body was slathered with lots of oil, which initially I thought was nice. I indicated that I needed a strong massage as my whole was feeling quite sore. The pressure slightly increased, but then went back down to the feeling of just being rubbed – I thought this was supposed to be a massage

The massage was followed by a facial. The lady was nice enough. But she kept spraying my face with water and wiping away the product. From previous facial experiences I’ve had, a moist towel or moist cotton pad was used to wipe away the product when treatment is done. But not be fully sprayed on the face and have it wiped off. Just as when I felt like I was beginning to relax, I get jolted awake from the cold water spray.
The lady then told me that the session was over. Normally oil is wiped off the body with warm towel, wiped dried and then the session is truly over. The person left the room and that was it. I found myself still slathered with oil with no spare towel to wipe myself clean.

You cannot claim (on your website) that you are the BEST SPA in Sydney. The standard is below sub-par. I’m very disappointed.

EDIT: Zen Day Spa has since replied to this review claiming that I’ve made false accusations. Since I can’t leave a response to their comment, I’ll simply update my review here to clarify a few things.

Firstly, I gain absolutely nothing from making false accusations. I was simply unhappy with the Hens Group Package that I experienced. The Hens day is an important occasion for many so I shared my review so that others would know what to expect when booking the same package.

In my original review, I stated that:

The Hens Package includes bubbly and cupcakes. The photos on their website and on social media showcase hens groups celebrating inside their spa lounge area with the food, drinks and decorations.

I felt mislead because I was told that we were not allowed to have any decorations...but this is not the main issue. When I was told this via email, I accepted this and moved on.

What made it disappointing was that on the day, the food and drinks were set up on a table outside of the spa in the walkway area (not inside the comfortable lounge as the photos had indicated).

On top of this, for our group of 7, there were only 3 seats set-up and 3 glasses of drinks. This means that only half of the group had the bubbly and cupcakes while the other half were left unattended. After some time of 3 of us awkwardly standing around outside, we all decided to just leave…

As for the timeline of events: 27 Jan was when I made the enquiry, 2 Feb I was asked to make a deposit, I made this on the 7 Feb, on the 10 Mar I was told there was a staff shortage so 2 guests had to be paired with the male therapist.

I didn’t say in my original review that my guests did not want to be paired with a male therapist. What I said was that I had already supplied the names of the 2 guests that volunteered to be paired with the male therapist, but this wasn’t taken into consideration on the day.

What actually happened on the day was that the guests that arrived first were suddenly asked if they were happy to be paired with the male therapist (not the guests I had named) which felt disorganised and it also put these guests on the spot.

Luckily, most of my group was happy to be paired with the male therapist but my feedback was that the timeline of events weren't ideal because we kind of had no choice.

Like I said, I made the deposit on 9 Feb and on the 10 Mar was when I was told 2 guests must be paired with a male therapist. Perhaps there are hens party groups that aren't comfortable with a male therapist that would like to know that there's a possibility of this happening prior to making their deposit. This is just an FYI for those groups.

But at the forefront of all of this. The overall experience didn’t feel luxurious because:

- There were inconsistencies in the massage. 6 of us received the full body massage (as expected as part of our package) while I only received a back massage... which was strange.

- Prior to the day I had organised who would be in groups 1 and 2 and named the bride-to-be so she could be prioritised. On the day, the bride was not given first priority and the group names were not organised as planned. It was just whoever filled out their form first was whisked away first.
No staff members even ever acknowledged the bride-to-be, I think even a little hello or congratulations would've been a nice touch.

- The massage table was lined with towels that felt old, rough, brittle (as pictured).

- We didn’t get any explanation of what products would be used for facial treatments despite some of us indicating we had sensitive skin.

And lastly, looking over our email thread again, perhaps there were miscommunications leading up to the day. However, this does not take away from the fact that the overall experience was a far cry from the "luxury" that is advertised and I’m even further mortified now that the spa manager has decided to focus on the semantics of email communication dates while blatantly overlooking the bigger issues.

My sister and I had a lovely & relaxing 2 hour package here! The therapists were very experienced and we loved our treatments. The spa services are very well priced.
