I am not a fan of the location of this hostel. Even though it's nearby Roma Street Station, it is located uphill so you need to do a bit of a hike when you're going out. The area doesn't feel safe to walk at night as well.

But what stood out for me during my stay in YHA is their level of cleanliness in their private rooms. It is comparable to a hotel experience - very clean sheets, comfortable bed, and soft pillows. They also provide amenities in the room like towels, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. They also have a free water at the reception area which really adds to the total experience.

This hostel is giving a vibe of a party hostel. So if you want to meet other people and have fun, then you might want to consider this.

Lovely hotel with great pool and rooftop terrace. Only thing to note, not very many sun loungers around the pool but we were happy to lay on the decking. Rooms were clean. The centre is about 25/30 minute walk or an easy bus.

Probably the cleanest backpacker I've ever stayed in. The facilities are fantastic, and the shared rooms are very clean and modern. Absolutely love that there's a separate library and workstation. Not to mention their wellness room that has your basic equipment for a workout. Located very close to Roma Train station which is a bonus.

Stayed here for 2 weeks whilst in Brisbane and had a lovely experience! Staff were amazing and super friendly. Kitchen was always really clean. Free yoga classes and gym area was a massive plus! Amazing view from pool/bar area. Room was on the smaller side but beds were super comfortable and clean. Definitely recommend this hostel!

This is the best hostel I’ve stayed at. The rooms were nice with large lockers and privacy curtains. Each bed also had its own reading light and 3 charging ports. The rooftop pool had a great view and the bar provides many social activities. Bathrooms were a little small but it very rarely became an issue.

Seriously one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in. Everything feels very clean and brand new. Rooms are very comfy, neat and include a safety locker per person. Facilities are amazing and the rooftop has a gorgeos view of the city. Staff were really kind and helpful. Overall a great stay.

Friendly staff and good location. Rooms were clean but just far too small. I have stayed in quite a few hostels in Australia and this was the only one that wasn’t for me, I checked myself out early. There was not enough space for my luggage and the room was stuffy and over crowded. The air con unit was directly above the bed which is not ideal. The room would have been fine for 2 beds but there’s not enough space for 4 people to be comfortable.

I had an absolutely amazing stay at YHA Brisbane City!

The receptionists were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making me feel at home from the moment I arrived. The facilities were modern, clean, and well-maintained. One small but memorable touch was hearing Billie Eilish’s songs playing during the tour period—it added a unique and enjoyable atmosphere.

One of the standout moments of my stay was when the housekeeping staff found my lost AirPods and power bank and returned them to reception. I never expected to get them back, and their honesty and kindness truly left a lasting impression.

I highly recommend this hostel to anyone looking for a comfortable and budget-friendly place to stay in Brisbane!😊
