Stunning property in a beautiful, secluded setting. As this is a Pet Friendly property, we were able to take our hound Alfie. Breakfast provisions provided (Bacon, Farm Eggs, Tomatoes, Local loaf of Bread, wide selection of butter, spreads, jams & marmalade, fresh Milk, bottle of local Clare Valley Shiraz & wood for fireplace for 2n also provided). Fully stocked kitchen with every appliance you can think of. Was fantastic to read the book written by the family who built the cottages & manor. Unfortunately, the sole family member left to maintain the accommodation, clean & also tend to the garden & outbuildings obviously isn't managing these tasks too well & needs to perhaps employ some help. Can imagine the garden directly near the Manor was once stunning, unfortunately soursobs are plentiful & huge which restricts exploring these areas. I've listed this property as Luxury as Bronte Manor cost us $200/n for the 2 of us midweek (with our pooch) which is normally $300/n.

If you want a rustic and romantic log cabin in a spectacular setting, this is the one. We stayed in Cathy’s cottage and loved the thoughtful way it was left for us, complete with little flower arrangements, lots of breakfast provisions and firewood, and even a flask of port. Everything you could need was provided, and the location was great We stayed at one of the other cottages 20 years ago and it was even more beautiful than we remembered. We will be back!

We attempted to stay at Bronte Manor recently in the school holidays and had the most awful experience. As much as we loved the charm and beauty of the property and surroundings we were not warned about the resident bats, 100's of creepy crawlies coming through the large gaps throughout the house and the not so dog friendly features. We had our 3 kids and 2 dogs with us and the experience was the most stressful we have been. The cleaner was still there when we arrived at the house at 415pm. The "dog friendly" area would not hold a guinea pig and we had bats swooping us at night in the loungeroom. The attic bedroom was boarded up and not accessible but looked completely inhabitable compared to the photos on the website anyways. We were there a total of 14 hours just to stay overnight as we didn't want to drive in the dark all the way home again....3 hours away. The most stressful night managing 2 dogs chasing bats around inside and kids screaming. We were offered a refund minus 2 nights accommodation and told that the bats are a protected species and that once commencing our sty the terms and conditions state no refund.....hmmmmm, funny the same terms and conditions didn't mention bats, minus a bedroom and dog area fit for nothing. We negotiated to pay only 1 nights accommodation however feel ripped off. 6 hours of driving with 3 kids and 2 dogs, no relaxation and nowhere else to stay for the school holidays as everything is booked out. We spent hundreds of dollars for nothing. Obviously we would not recommend this property to anyone......

We stayed six nights at Glenn Morris cottage with our two dogs, one large, one small. Everything was delightful. Tanika, our host couldn’t do enough to ensure we had all we needed and enjoyed our holiday. The property is absolutely beautiful, a haven for man and beast. We felt secluded and were very comfortable. The rustic charm of Glen Morris is enchanting, and we wanted for nothing. This was the most relaxing holiday we have had yet. The attached dog run provided a safe and secure area for our dogs, who loved watching the birds and wildlife who came visiting. Looking forward to our next stay.

Stayed at Bronte Manor with a group of friends. It's a rustic house with a fun, medieval vibe. Lovely provisions left for breakfast and a couple of bottles of wine thrown in. The inside is sweet and it's always lovely seeing the past life of the house and its owners with their collections of books and games. It does need some work both inside and out. There are a couple of window panes which need fixing and the outside is a bit of a dog's breakfast with weeds, piles of old stones around the fire pit, etc. It just feels as though the owners are so used to the place that they do not see what visitors see. It needs a wee makeover and tidy up to lift its spirits. Overall we had a gorgeous weekend with lots of fun around the open fire and a lovely walk on the Reisling trail.

We were drawn to this place as we could take our dog. Stayed at Glen Morris cottage.||The surrounds of the property are amazing , walk through the bush- lots of gum trees , you can spot kangaroos around dusk and the Alpacas were a nice touch.||Now as far as the house goes it does have all the basics but is really very cold and quite tired . Really the house is in a very average condition.||The front door needs fixing I note others had mentioned that , the bathroom needs a total overhaul.||It badly needs some extra floor rugs and another bar heater . It was too cold to use the dining table so we basically sat on the couch at night and stoked the fire . The first 2 nights my teeth chattered from the cold .||Breakfast provisions are good and the place is clean but tired in parts

Firstly we loved our time at this cottage but there were a few things about it that could have been better. We rented the Bronte Manor for two couples over the course of two days about a month ago. We found the directions to the property easy to follow and the location is beautiful! The cottage is so cute and has such eclectic furnishing, we adored it. When we booked, we were told in the email that the key would be in the door at 1pm, then the letter explaining the property said that check in was at 2pm, but then the website says 3pm, as we were confused about this, we arrived at 1pm since the email to us had specifically said that time. When we arrived they commented that we had arrived early, which made us feel rather uncomfortable since all the information listed had different times. We booked these cottages specifically to bring the dogs with us. We liked that there was an outdoor secure dog area, but on arrival we realized the dog space was very small and the dogs could easily jump the fence around it, we ended up having to leave them in the cottage and stop back a few times to let them out. When we booked we paid for additional firewood since it stated on the website there was only enough for the evenings. We ran out of firewood even after we had paid for additional, and we were out during the days and didn't have a fire going during those times. The cottage was covered in spider webs and dead bugs, which we understood this cottage is meant to be rustic but this was a bit much. The canopy over the bed in our room was just covered in dead insects. On the last day we pulled back the curtains of our room and saw the biggest red back spider I have ever seen, this seemed unacceptable to us and should be checked more. The Bronte Manor comes with a complimentary bottle of wine, ours was the 1997 Seven Hill blend. At first we thought "wow 1997!" but after reading the bottle we realized it was meant to be drunk in 8 to 10 years, it's 2020! We popped it open to check it out and the wine was absolutely rancid. If you are going to give out a complimentary bottle of wine at an accomadation in a wine region, one would expect it to not be over 10 years out of date! On the fridge there was a brochure for a cab company, and one of the evenings we called to book a cab for our dinner reservation. The woman that answered the phone was so confused because she hadn't run cabs out of the Clare valley for almost two years. Why was this brochure still on the fridge? The Bronte Manor was cute and cozy, the bath tubs and views amazing, and the heated bed was such a nice touch, but there were some serious things with this property that could be worked on to make it outstanding.

I have to say that this would be the worst weekend my sister and I have ever had regarding the appalling accommodation, especially given how much we paid - $400 a night||The place is derelict and extremely filthy. |The front door has no handle on the inside|The kitchen is filthy beyond belief - the cupboards are covered in grease and are sticky. The oven is just appalling _ you wouldn’t cook in it|The windows are so dirty you can hardly see out of them |There is dust built up in furniture nooks and crannies |Shower rail was rusted and cobwebs over the ceiling |The bath needed resurfacing it was shocking|The fridge looked like it came from the local dump|There was no remote for the wall air con unit|There was no internet |The video remote was so dirty - it was sticky|No instructions for anything |The place smelt musty and old|The dog pen was shocking - we could not leave them in that|The outside area was a tip - brooms left out, gas bottles , old fridge and the table and chairs were dirty , the BBQ was just a horror story _ not a nice place to sit at all|The gardens were full of weeds|We have stayed in BandBs in many places - and this is the worst we have ever come across.
