Wind Song Bed & Breakfast - Little Swanport, Tasmania

Windsong was one of our favourite accommodations out of a long list of great picks by Susie at Tasmanian Odyssey for our 6 week road trip around Tasmania. We loved the farm location. A short distance up a gravelled road inland from the main East Coast Road but still only 20 mins from Triabunna to the south for the Maria Island cruise. A similar distance northwards to the small town of Swansea which has a great Heritage Museum. The hosts Tom and Jane were very welcoming. Both of us coming from a farming backgrounds, we particularly enjoyed conversations with the hosts. Breakfast provisions were good and Jane cooked excellent evening meals which were served at a dining table in our large main living area. The homemade ice cream with fruity liqueur sauce (also homemade) was especially delicious such that we requested it for 2 evenings running. We were staying in the Lodge which was bigger than we were expecting and had very homely feel with period furniture, a large comfy sofa and lots of books to read. Wildlife was abundant around the property. Wallabies of course, a variety of birds on the lawn, a resident ‘retired’ horse and the bonus of a friendly possum outside our door in the evenings.

Wind song is a lovely and quite place to relax with wollabys and opossums. The owner Paul and Jane were very nice and the food was exellent. Our lodge was very comfortable. We were there 3 days and is was great. Dear Paul and Jane we will come back.

We had the best night’s sleep at Wind Song since we arrived in Tassie. Jane and Tom are very kind and helpful. “The lodge” is clean and comfy and got everything we need. Jane prepared a splendid 3-course dinner for us, which is super lovely and yummy. The wallabies are just outside the beautiful window eating grass. My 6 year old had a great time watching them(and chasing a bit). Would recommend to everyone, just a short drive from Maria island ferry point. After a long day’s exploring, Wind Song will make sure you get a nice rest!

We were booked in here by Susie at Tasmania Odyssey and it was a great choice. The property is surrounded by wallabies hopping around. Our room was large and we could light a fire for added atmosphere. Our hosts cooked us a really good dinner on both nights (we brought our own wine). We made expeditions to the Freycinet Penisula and Maria Island.

Wonderful to be able to stay in a remote location. It was so peaceful and quiet, such a beautiful setting. Very friendly and accommodating hosts, we had a great chat with them. Breakfast provisions were left in the room. We paid extra for dinner and asked for vegetarian - wow! Vegetarian lasagne was delicious as was the very tasty garden salad with delicious balsamic dressing 😋
Loved staying here and wouldn't hesitate to stay again. Only criticism was the fact the windows were dirty and had cobwebs on the outside of them, but wasn't that big a deal for us

Heartfelt gratitude for ladyboss Jane who was very sweet and attentive to ensure that our family of 3 had a comfortable stay. I was particularly in love with the FRESH flowers arrangement she did for us. Also her preparation of a picnic basket for a day trip to Maria Island🤩🤩. 💗Another beautiful memory we had was to wake up to see kangaroos having their breakfast at our windows in the morning sunrise. Two days two nights seem a little short or we will hear many more serendipitous stories from Jane! She has amazing chemistry and connection with people.

We hope to meet Jane and her husband again soon 😍💐🥳.

Wallabies in the backyard and possums in the front, what more could you ask for？ Tom and Jane are so kind and even gave our children a little tour around the property, we are treated with a fabulous dinner as well. Stayed for just one night but can easily spend a week here. Definitely our highlight in Tasmania.

Wind Song is a great B&B on a farm some 35 km south of Swansea on the east coast of Tasmania. We arrived in the late afternoon and received a warm greeting from the owners, Tom and Jane. |We had time to get acquainted with The Lodge, where we were staying, and watch the wallabies before Jane served us a delicious three-course dinner which we had ordered and paid for in advance. |Furnished in a charming retro style, The Lodge has a bedroom (QS bed and a single), a separate bathroom, a large sitting room (with single bed) and a small kitchen. The tariff includes breakfast provisions. We loved the accommodation and were very comfortable during our overnight stay.|Wind Song provided wonderful opportunities to photograph wallabies in a natural setting and we also saw possums visiting the farmhouse soon after dark. If you'd like to sample some Tasmanian farm hospitality this is the place. We recommend it highly.|
