My expectations were high, but Wilson Island exceeded them in every respect. If you love snorkeling, birds, wonders of nature, gourmet food, good wines and good company, this is THE place to go. I can fully subscribe to what Emma (one of our co-guests!) already said here. Aron's Barramundi was unforgettable, as were the cocktail surprises by Alex. Sheree made sure that all of our questions were answered and requests fulfilled. The other 4-14 guests during our three-night stay were great company and made our dinners into long and lively discussions.

A truly outstanding experience. The island itself was just wonderful, the birds, the turtles, the reef flat at low tide, the snorkeling . The accommodation was just the most appropriate for a nature focused experience. On top of all that nature could gift the visitor there was a the staff, who made us feel that we were the most important people around ( and all the 6-14 guests we shared the island with over our four night visit felt exactly the same way!) Aron, was our most organized and creative chef , you made every meal an occasion to look forward to and never ever disappointed. No question was left unanswered, no request unsatisfied by our wonderful hosts Alex and Sheree ( ? Did I spell that right? ). A big thank you to you both!

I found the cure for stress and tension: Wilson island on the southern Great Barrier Reef. Best mini break in a long time!|It’s for adults only with a maximum of 18 guests. It epitomises understated luxury in the heart of nature. There were only 8 of us including a beautiful family from Germany and a UK couple on their honeymoon. Seeing the reef experience through their wide-with-wonder eyes was magical. |We snorkelled right off the beach daily with fish of all sorts, clams, turtles, eagle rays and reef sharks. And the Gob-smacking Wilson Bommie, the largest of its kind in the southern hemisphere. Mind blown.|I fell asleep to the sound of waves lapping the shore in a comfy king bed. And woke up to sunrise across the coral sea|You have to disconnect - there’s no wifi - and the only distractions are remembering the tide and meal times.|No ensuites here: there’s a shared/central amenities block however each ‘tent’ gets its own dedicated shower room complete with deliciously smelling hair & body products. |We were made to feel like VIPs but without any fuss by our delightful hosts Sheree and Alex . They made our stay effortless, belying the hard work that goes into providing an exceptional experience while running a small resort. Chef Eric provided us with three Delicious and generous meals each day using only Australian produce. Lunch and dinners were complimented by a very nice selection of Australian wine |It was easy to get there! A flight from Brisbane to Gladstone the night prior, then a ferry to Heron Island (just in time for lunch), before a quick private transfer across to Wilson Is.|My heart is full, my shoulders are down, my vitamin D levels are restored and a week later I’m still smiling! |Worth every cent.

We stayed on Wilson Island for 2 nights, the accommodation is in glamping tents which are well spaced apart - we were in “Seclusion” which was very private and close to the beach but a decent walk to the shared amenities block. The food was excellent, big shout out to Ally the chef. Laura was a friendly and informative host. Highly recommend getting up early and walking the beach to see the turtles leaving their nests. Snorkelling was good with loads of fish, turtles, rays and sharks. Loved our stay there and will be back.

We were overall quite disappointed with our stay on Wilson Island. After months of planning and getting excited over the very positive reviews, our expectations were quite high for this experience. The day started with lots of travel between the flight to Gladstone, then the 2.5 hour ferry to Heron, followed by a 3+ hour wait on Heron, and finally a 45 minute ferry to Wilson. ||While we were forced to wait for several hours on Heron Island (supposedly for the tide to lower, though on the return they said they needed it to be high tide, so we were quite dubious of this reasoning), we tried some of the very expensive, very bad food. It was quite disappointing that for the all inclusive and expensive experience we purchased, we were stuck waiting on Heron and lunch was not included while we had to wait. When it was finally time to head to the boat that would take us to Wilson, we were told we would have to wait another half an hour, again supposedly for the tide, though tides should be extremely predictable, so this did not make much sense. Finally, when we got on the boat we discovered that some of our bags did not make it during the transfer, so the staff had to run back and get them. It would have been quite disastrous had we not noticed and mentioned it.||Once we finally got to Wilson things were a bit smoother and we made the best of the time we had there, the island itself was absolutely beautiful and peaceful and it was incredible to see the turtles laying their eggs. We were a little disappointed by the lack of privacy that the actual tents have, as they are quite close together and the patios are visible to each other, but it overall ended up being okay.||One thing we wish we would have been let known about ahead of time, is that all meals are served at a large table with all the other guests. While this is not necessarily a dealbreaker, it would have been nice to know this ahead of time, as I was not expecting to have all my meals with all the other couples each and every day. That said, breakfast, lunch, and dinner each day was beautifully presented and quite delicious. Although, again, we were disappointed by the happy hour platter. Every day it was simply a cheese plate with the same exact content. When we had done research on Wilson Island, we had seen advertisements of "seafood platters" and were excited for this, but ultimately disappointed that this was seemingly false advertising.||In terms of the service, the staff on Wilson Island were very helpful, professional, kind and lovely to chat with. We found the staff on Heron Island during our brief period to be very unprofessional.||Overall, we ended up having an okay experience, but for the cost, travel time, and coordination required to make this happen during out trip, we would not necessarily do it again, nor recommend it to others.

We spent four nights on Wilson Island and if you love an adventure, amazing animal life and great service this might be for you.||Yes, you might not sleep at night but living amongst birds and turtles must be worth it. Especially if your hosts are as caring as Kym and Tony. Thanks heaps for making us feel at home.||A special thanks also to Luca, our amazing chef. Everything he presented was simply delicious and without fault! I hope he will treat you with his Brasil inspired prawn and pumpkin dish. What a treat!
