A not for profit hotel with proceeds going to the animals. What’s not to love? The staff are incredibly friendly and even refused tips encouraged us to donate it to the wildlife funds instead (which we did). Rooms were spacious, breakfast buffet was great and menu options were changed daily. Can’t say enough about the view in any part of the hotel. Jaw dropping scenery all around.

We booked an animal view room and got to see one of their resident koalas, Matteo every day.

The hotel also have optional retreats for guests like the aviary tour, the nocturnal tour and the close encounter tour. The nocturnal tour is an additional cost at a reasonable $25 per person. Would love to visit here again in the future

We had the best service, our room was hot however they changed our room right away and let us use two rooms over the night. Very friendly staff, they lend us their chargers to charge our devices. Finding our room was a bit tricky on the property, I wish someone could have shown us the way. We had wallabies, kangaroos and koala in our backyard which was amazing. Again, the staff is very nice and accommodating. We will definitely be coming back again Insha’Allah.

We had an amazing stay here! Jane at the front desk is so kind and helpful! The staff all seemed so kind and happy. We loved waking up and opening our window to all the birds and kangaroos. The breakfast for hotel guests was so nice. I think we had little kids staying above us who ran around a lot but other than that rooms were great. A bit of walking but it was beautiful. I don’t recommend the restaurant for any meals besides the included breakfast.

Lovely hotel with great view, friendly staff and great aesthetic. I think the breakfast is very good, my only feedback would be to have some fried eggs as an option. While the poached eggs were nice, the scrambled eggs were very “meh” in texture and taste. In saying that, it did not damper the breakfast nor the experience of my stay as a whole.

We had the most amazing stay at the Wildlife Retreat! We loved everything about our time here. The rooms were luxurious and clean with a super comfy bed! The staff were friendly, approachable and hospitable! And the location is second to none! Would recommend to all our friends and family in a heartbeat and can't wait to come back here! One of the best stays we've ever had!

The most unique and special experience. Miriam and the team at the Retreat made our stay an unforgettable time for my partner and I celebrating our birthday. The tours by the team were an amazing insight into the zoo and animals that were combined with such unique hotel rooms. Can’t recommend the Retreat and the team more highly.

This was the most incredible experience I’ve had in Sydney. As a local who has been to the zoo many times before this experience had me appreciate the zoo in a whole new light. The retreat, service, Me-Gal restaurant, zoo keeper private tours = everything was perfect. A total dream and very romantic place to stay. I’ll be suggesting it to everyone I know. Thank you.

Magnificent!
Elegant accommodation within the zoo.
We stayed for 2 x nights.
On-sight parking + three private tours + buffet brekky included in package.

Extremely comfortable accommodation. We opted for the additional $100 per night for the room with a view of the animals, which consisted of 1 x koala bear. It was lovely, but rooms without a Koala are just as nice.

All staff were fantastic (reception, tours, bars, restaurants and within the zoo)

Me-Gal Restaurant was exceptional. Fine dining, the food was divine.

The breakfast buffet was also extremely good, with beautiful views of Sydney Harbour.

When I arrived, I was wondering what I was going to do at the zoo for 2 nights and three days.
Thought I was going to be bored after a few hours.
I was totally wrong. We took our time getting into the animals, the talks etc. LOVED IT!

We also spent 1 x evening dining in Mosman (great village feel).
Excellent experience and highly recommended
BRILLIANT!

P.S. It is a zoo so expect some youngsters winging in the background.
