Decent for a quick stopover (1 night stay) with a large family travelling to Airlie Beach. Old motor inn, but did the job. Beds and towels were clean, which is all we needed. Quick early breakfast provided (cereal and toast) were good for the kids before our next trip.

Nice and spacious room with all amenities needed. Staff pleasant during the minimal engagement with them.
Location is far away from town or anything you’d want access to by walking distance so ensure you have a car.

Arrived late at the motel due to a road closure/accident south of Mackay. Had already notified the operator that we would arrive after the reception would be closed. Arranged for a key to be left in the late arrivals safe and the reception sent me a code for the safe.|All good up to then.|Arrived at the motel approx 10.30 opened the safe and found one envelope with a key but not mine.|Rang the after hours/ emergency number to get a leave a message message. No response. After multiple calls and still no response took the other persons key and room. |14 hours later and I still haven't had a call from the management to see if we had a room for the night.|With 30 plus years of experience in tourism and hospitality industry needless to say I'm not impressed.

On arriving to obtain key ,reception very rude .did not seem to want to accommodate. Later asked about WiFi said in book in room no password necessary but you need it WiFi non existing
Mould in bathroom place smells dirty would give this place a wide birth
Stayed at another motel a couple of weeks earlier was much better and cheaper.

This was an absolute disgrace of a place and stay in general!
I booked it through Hotels.com, received an email from The White Lace asking what time I was arriving, I replied with “around 12pm” to make it short. They replied with, “check-in opens at 2pm”, No hello, No thank you, No regards. I arrived at 1pm and the place is closed, no one to be seen. I rang the ninety and he said, “yeah be about an hour mate”!
I mean what motel/hotel closes during the day with no one around?!?
I arrived an hour later, he was very short with me and especially made sure I was aware that breakfast finished at 8:30am SHARP!!!
His manner and aura was not one to be aspired by. I finally found my room after searching high and low for it coz the numbers had fallen off the stairs to say it was upstairs. After opening the door and placing my bags down I went to sit on the bed and it felt like it was going to collapse. Would you believe not 1 but 2 wheels had come out of their sockets and just chucked under the bed!
But wait the best is yet to come. I went and advised that the wheels under the bed were broken and he replied, oh damn, didn’t offer another room and the people next door to me said he was really off to them on check in as well.
I contacted Hotels.com and asked if I could get a refund or maybe an extra night on the house. They contacted the Motel and 5 mins later he’s knocking at the door, darts around the room trying to find the key, snatches it out of my hand and says “you’ve got 15 mins to get out”!! “What I said”?
I tried to calmly explain to him I’d contacted Hotels.com and tried to reason with him but no way, it was his way or the Highway!! So I had to leave and after a week of too-ing and fro-ing I eventually got my money back and found a much better place to stay!!

Very dated rooms. Noisy box aircon. Booked 2 downstairs rooms but got put upstairs. Person checking us in had no interest in problem solving so 2 people with disabilities had to navigate stairs. Location is ok but overall, not a place I’d stay again.

Great comfortable bed. Large room. Very loud as under flight path. Breakfast sub par. Minimal service to room in 5 day stay. Cleanliness could be improved. Looks beautiful outside..needs to reflect this inside. Need better curtains on front. Manager very helpful

Being an interstate truck driver I will always stay at White Lace Motor Inn clean rooms . Great stuff and from my experience always willing to go above and beyond for customers. I highly recommend.
