Wentworth Hotel - Homebush, New South Wales

I checked in the hotel on 05 Dec 2024; however, I had to leave within 20 minutes. The room was hot and humid without any air-conditioning. There was only a small fan which I looked like a room heater Altgough it was a nonrefundable booking through booking.com, I had to leave soon after as there was no better alternative. They offered shared bathroom which i should have checked on booking.com. I usually do not write bad reviews but consumers should be careful before booking here specifically in summers.

Overall pub was okay. Food was good. Downstairs is well thought out and nicely renovated, great outdoor area and kids playground.
Rooms upstairs were very basic, uncomfortable beds, no air-conditioning or fan for hotter nights. Shared bathroom facilities needed a good clean, the smell throughout the whole second floor was disgusting. You could smell it as soon as you got half way up the stair case.
Staff were not overly pleasant, more just like robots, no enthusiasm or emotion, no smiles, they were very blank faced.

A mixed experience, we came for dinner early,hardly a soul there. Ordered rib eye $49 med rare,it was full of sinew and still attached to bone and was med to well. My burger came w no bacon and within the hour the restaurant was packed. Mostly enjoyed our food. Would recommend if got kids.

No air conditioning for the rooms and the windows don't open so there is no air flow. Our room did not have a door handle as well as the sheets having mysterious stains. Was made to pay a $300 deposit on a $130 room. Whole place reeked of smoke as everyone smokes indoors. The chips were a slay tho

Hosted a small function for 25 for my daughter’s christening, the service was absolutely outstanding! It rained on the day and the playground was too wet for the kids to play when we arrived, the staff wiped down the slide and equipment for the kids to play and turned on all the heaters. I was shocked at how kind and accommodating they were! The food was amazing and quick to be served which was great. Highly highly recommend I could not give more praise to the functions manager and all the staff they were absolutely incredible!

If you are considering staying a night at the Wentworth hotel, re-consider. Spend the extra 50 or so dollars to stay somewhere else, there is no air conditioning which we were warned of when checking in but is not stated anywhere on their website. We were told that there was a fan in our room but there was not. When trying to cool down our oven of a room by opening the window, we were greeted with the lovely and extremely noisey exhaust from the pokies room down stairs which filled our room with the delightful smell of smoke and who knows what else. I should also add that there is not hot water in the shared shower area. If you are hoping to have even a half decent sleep, I would strongly not recommend the Wentworth Hotel. Cheap and for very good reason.

Great food (eat here once a fortnight) but updated menu no longer has the Aussie schnitzel. Fried chicken burger was tasty.

Prices have gone up and the Monday special now only applies to the standard schnitzel, with all other variants charged full price.

Went to the Wentworth Hotel on Wednesday to get their daily special, a 200g Rump served with chips, salad & sauce. Kudos to the chef because the rump was cooked to the perfect medium rare!
