Back again to the Weipa Bowling Club. Another great afternoon of amazing service and beautiful food. Boys had a game of barefoot bowls. Ladies sat and watched outside under the cool fans. Bloody awesome spot. Keep up the great work guys.

We had a powered caravan site and it was great. They are huge, enough room for the van, the awning, and the car. The only thing we thought that was a bit weird is there is no greywater drain. I went and asked and they said to just run the grey water somewhere onto the grass (all the sites are massive grass sites). This was fine, we ran it under the van and it wasnt an issue. The problem was when we got a neighbour and they thought it would be a good idea to run the grey water right into the same location that the taps were. So when they were showering or washing something the puddle formed. It soaks in pretty quick but to think people had to stand in that when connecting their water and power was a bit blah...

The park in general was pretty awesome. The amenities were close and clean, the cafe was brilliant, and open until around 2030, and the sunsets...... well lets just say that people started queueing up for the best seat locations well before the sun set.

Staff were great, and if we were to ever go back up that way we would certainly go back to this park!

Thanks again Brooke and Staff for another fantastic holiday in “Gods Country”. A special shout out to the house cleaning staff who serviced our cabin during our stay. They did a fantastic job. As usual we were sad to leave but we will be back again next year. M&M

Cabin was basic but lovely and spacious and had everything you needed, certainly value for money. Location including sunsets were fantastic and the Barra and Chips from Barramunchies was amazing. Only criticism was that we had car issues and car was still possibly going to be at Repco when we were due to check out. We went into reception the night before and flagged our dilemma. The lady was lovely and said that she would make sure our room was down last for cleaning and that we should be ok to stay a little longer (no charge) but to come back and check in the morning. When reception opened at 8am we did go back as requested and when I relayed the same message to another person, was told very bluntly that if we wanted to stay any longer than 10am it would be $30 which would get us until 12. There was no compassion, nothing. As we had no idea if the car would be ready even before 12 and had already confirmed our room was taken that night, we opted to have everything including a portable freezer removed from the room and waited on the outside of the cabin to hear about our car. Luckily the car was back by 10:40am so if we had got the ladies hospitality from the night before it would have just been a lovely gesture to have that extra time in the room. It certainly put a damper on an otherwise lovely stay.

We arrived to the CP without a booking and it seems that you are penalised for this atrocity, a medium site with a tree in the middle that doesn't allow for a car to be on one side and the van on the other. We approached the office and got "we will talk to " management, of course no one got back to us!!!!!
Eventually some poor soul will get P14 with a booking, just a cash cow because they have no other option. Other sites looked great but not enough care taken, we could have been told but weren't.

Powered site in the shade. Lovely aspect down to waters edge. Big sites and the park was bush but never seemed crowded. Good facilities.

Great beach front camping ground, large grassy sites with or without shade, very quiet at night, excellent vantage point for sunset over the ocean. Amenities clean and well maintained

It’s the only place to camp at Weipa as far as I know. Lots of site types. Power and water sites. Well laid out. Clean amenities. Fantastic beach view. Onsite food at Barramunchies.
Swimming pool a bit small for the amount of people it services but very grateful to have somewhere to swim.
