One of the most amazing campgrounds I’ve ever been to - It has such a warm, unique vibe. The staff are super friendly and helpful, and the amenities are really well maintained. What a bonus to have a cafe on site as well, which serves wholesome food at reasonable prices. I’ll be back!

Such a special place to visit and unwind, as soon as I opened the car door I was able to feel the calmness in the air. Greeted by the staff and a tour to my campsite.
Fantastic facilities, male and femal toilets and hot showers, cooking facilities, common area, chess and a amazing Cafe.

I will definitely be heading back to Waves Campground to unwind for longer.

The location is great, and the staff is friendly. bathrooms and toilet were not very clean, but the hot water was nice. shop at the reception is very convenient and price very reasonable . Unfortunately, the kitchen amenities were quite not well-maintained and pretty loud with all the staffs, also sad that the coffees shop was closed during our stay.

The most incredible wedding venue EVER

From the moment we saw Waves campground, my wife and I both knew that it would be the only suitable place for our dream bohemian camping / festival wedding that we were planning. The trees, the wildlife, and the beaches are seriously just second to none.

We had friends from all over Australia (and the world) come for the event and every one of them fell in love with the place. Ana, Kit and Rich were extremely accommodating and did whatever they could to help us bring our vision to life. They found our wedding celebrant, put us in touch with local suppliers, and even lent a helping hand when we needed it! We had the most incredible day and it wouldn’t have been possible without them (and also the volunteer crew!)

Perhaps more importantly, it was great piece of mind to know that having our wedding at waves was one of the most environmentally & financially responsible ways that we could approach such an event. All our rubbish was sorted and recycled where possible, all of our supplies came from local farms & businesses, and when we had to purchase items that would typically be single use, they helped us to find secondary lives for those items. I can’t think of any other wedding venue that would have gone to that much effort to achieve such an outcome.

Thank you so much!

A hidden gem of a camp ground. All the facilities you could want and well priced. Camp spots are all secluded from each other for privacy. Don't even consider the National Park options around when this place is available.

We had such high hopes for this campsite as the location is brilliant but the campsite itself was a big let down. I would definitely stay at one of the national park campsites close by. I sent an email 4 days direct to the campsite before leaving a review, however there has been no reply which adds to the incompetence of the staff.

Issues with the site:
1. There was a big wedding function going on at the bunk house. The music was extremely loud and heavy past midnight. We were not pre warned. Unfortunately we had to check in at 7pm and were given a site very close to the wedding.
2. The staff were rude. There was another guest cooking in the kitchen and they were whipping towels around very close to her, leaving her very little space to cook.
3. The toilets and showers were filthy.
4. The kitchen was disgusting. A big group of people were eating at a table and they left piles of rice on the table and didn't clean it up. Later on this same group came down and locked up the staff kitchen. If the staff aren't willing to keep the tables clean then there is no hope for the rest of the campsite.

I hope the owners really look into the staff and how they are running the place. From the outside it looks amazing but in reality it was the worst campsite we've stayed at in Australia.

A lovely spot to camp in nature with a delicious cafe and nice amenities. But the mosquitoes were out of control, day and night, so we told the office that we would be moving on and not staying another night. This is totally not their fault, there was rain recently that caused it, but the French woman running reception was very rude and would not give us back the money we paid for the 2nd night, even though we asked early before the check-out time. The rest of the staff is amazing and it’s a great location near the surf breaks.

This used to be a nice and calm place to have family camping there. However, it has changed.
Firstly, last 2 times we were there there were a few groups of Spanish/Portuguese speaking people who were not obeying the rules to be calm after 10pm. As it is applied in Australia, we came to the office next day and left a complain there. We were assured that an action would be taken, but nothing has changed the following nights. Also, these people were peeing everywhere (including girls) at the daylight. And, of course, a smell of marijuana was around. It looks like no one controls anything there.
Another issue is that the toilet facilities are overcrowded. In addition, while people were standing in the line to have shower, others had sex there. And, of course, do not be surprised to see women and girls going out from the men's toilets.
The appliances they provided (washing machines and microwaves) were broken.
To sum up, the camping is not worth the money they ask.
