Ordered squid and chips with gravy. Was a VERY busy day and food came out 45-50 minutes after waiting. No drama. My mother’s squid (i had ordered the chips) were chewy and overcooked. $17 the squid was. She had two bites, scrunched up her face and refused to eat the rest of her lunch. She instead ate chips with me which was sad to see our almost $30 bill with us only consuming 1/4 of the bill. I understand that on busy days it is hard to keep an eye on the food in the back, but with the waiting times and prices this was quite appalling. My mother did not want to get a refund or enquire in person, hell, she’d kill me if she even knew i was writing this. If you guys are after any staff to help in the back you should maybe put up a help wanted poster to prevent overcooked food and miserable waiting times. Once again, today was very busy so i am very understanding of the little-to-no-control-out-of-reach limits the business had. Asides from that, chips were delicious and it was the best gravy i had ever tasted.

Stopped in for something to eat but was way to experience so we just had a drink, which was on the pricey side as well. Was happy we didn't stay, the staff are rude and the gaming area and toilets need attention. I waited at 1 bar with other customer for service that didn't turn up and had to go to the main bar were there was 5 staff just standing around. Would I go back in a rash no.

This is a very stylish pub situated just across the road from Warners Bay on Lake Macquarie. It’s a beautifully designed hotel with plenty of different areas to choose from including a mezzanine level upstairs for eating. These guys are also great supporters of live music and you can catch some fantastic bands here across the weekend. All in all a very cool little place to check out.

I was drinking with a few friends, I had come in with outside food, and was very politely told I can eat it outside their doors, just not inside the venue (which was so fair)
staff had checked in with me multiple times to make sure I had a safe way home, every staff member I came across was absolutely lovely, and gave the best service I’ve ever come across while going to different bars/pubs/clubs. Special shoutout to the Security on tonight and the manager of operations 🤩 you were all amazing, I can’t thank you enough xx

I’ve really loved the WBH since the major renovations—it’s such a spacious and beautiful venue, especially with all the lush hanging plants. I find myself coming back often.

The food has never let me down, particularly the upstairs restaurant, and I’ve even celebrated my birthday here—it was such a great experience.

I think adding some background music would lift the vibe even more, and themed nights or specials could be a great way to bring in more locals.

I’ve also been here during a UFC fight night, and the energy was awesome.

Definitely worth a visit—and make sure you try their cocktails, they’re absolutely delicious!

We had a family dinner for 15 and our two meals of risotto were absolutely disgusting. After just two mouthfuls we returned the dishes. Both were delivered cold and among the last of the meals delivered, some had even finished their meals by the time ours were delivered. The young lady who my husband returned the meals came back to our table and went over the reasons, they were cold, still had crunchy rice and was tasteless. She did ask if there was something we would like in place of our meal, but as everyone else had finished their meals we said a refund would be fine. After some time she came back with another staff member who said the chef did not agree that the meals were tasteless and only partially cooked, but agreed they were cold and would only refund one meal. Not great customer service. As two entire meals were returned to the kitchen. Very poor as two of our party are chefs and said that should not happen. So unfortunately a very poor experience all round.

Food could have been better. Sadly, my meal only a snitty) was tough. Having said that, some other meals looked great!

I visited this restaurant and ordered the pork belly, but unfortunately, it was completely inedible. The meat had a strong, off-putting smell, clearly not fresh, and after just one bite, we had to return it to the kitchen. We didn’t finish the dish; we couldn’t even eat it.

Instead of offering a replacement or a refund, the manager refused to do anything, stating that “this is how the chef intended it to be served.” He said he believed the chef and insisted that he was just following his boss’s instructions, leaving us with no resolution. The dish never came back to the table, and to make matters worse, we were asked to leave.

I’ve never experienced such poor customer service. It felt like we were told, “If you don’t like the food, it’s your preference.” No effort was made to address our concerns or ensure we had a meal at all.

Completely disappointing and unprofessional, I would not recommend this place to anyone, I will just need to publish this in local guide, and also contact health department as this is a health hazard for public.
