The Waratah on York was fantastic. We had a top floor king suite with a bath. Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. It had great views and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was huge and very modern. Pia, who checked us in, was really lovely and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

I just spent 6 nights in a top floor King Suite and was very impressed. I chose Waratah on York based on the positive reviews and can confirm that they are accurate.
The staff are lovely, the room is beautiful and the building has a very interesting history.
Parking was easy and the location fantastic.
The whole experience was extremely positive and I will happily stay here again.

A perfect location, walking distance from shops, aquatic centre and city park. A beautifully presented historic building with complimenting modern furnishings. The huge windows let in just the right amount of natural sunlight. The washer and drier were so convenient especially when travelling with children, even the washing powder was provided. There were enough toiletries provided for our family of 6 for the entire stay with toilet paper stocked up regularly. There was free parking on the premises. I cannot fault this place at all. It was a home away from home. We all loved it.

Loved the room, but it was noisy even with a sign in the hallway to keep the noise down. Also, the hotel is located at the top of a steep hill, making it quite a climb down and up if you want to walk to the mall and restaurants.

A beautiful and wonderfully decorated room with modern amenities. From check in to check out was a pleasant experience. Comfortable bed and luxury bedding gives you a perfect nights sleep, walking distance to city park and the city central. Parking on-site.

We stayed one night here on out tour around Tassie. Reception staff are fantastic and very helpful. The room was very nice indeed. The only draw back is its located on a very steep hill. So walks down to town mean a walk back up hills. Still great place.

Super friendly staff, comfy bed and great view from the room. Look for Warratah on York/Areca sign for parking, is on a small lane way downslope. Both own by some Company.

What a fabulous stay! The room was extraordinary - beautiful sun room with plenty of seating in order to enjoy a cup of tea and look over the city. I concur with others, Launceston is hilly so walking to/from restaurants can be a good walk - we enjoy that tho. Note, too, the parking lot is below the beautiful lodge, so there are stairs - as there are stairs in the lodge as well, so you will need to carry luggage up and down. This should not deter you from staying here - the view and location are so worth it. There is a lovely park just down the block from the Waratah that has monkeys, flowers, and great walk paths. Tea and coffee in the room and a nice desk and chair so I could easily journal each evening.
