W Sydney is a cool, modern hotel in Darling Harbour. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and have everything you need. The staff are friendly and helpful.

The hotel looks amazing and has a rooftop bar with great views of the city. It’s a fun place to stay and is close to lots of things to do. I really enjoyed my visit and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a nice, stylish place to stay in Sydney.

THE WORST HOTEL IN SYDNEY

Our visit was intended to celebrate a special occasion—my birthday, it became a series of distressing events that have left us deeply disappointed.

Upon checking into our room, we were appalled to find it in an unacceptable state. The bathroom had visible urine stains, the bed linens were soiled, and the towels provided were dirty. This level of cleanliness is not only disappointing but also raises serious concerns about hygiene standards.

To make matters worse, it took a couple of hours for the hotel staff to provide us with an alternative room. This delay caused us to miss our reserved birthday dinner, resulting in a loss of our deposit for the restaurant booking.

As a gesture of goodwill, we were promised a stay in one of your executive suites. However, this promise was not fulfilled. We were reluctant to accept this offer, as it meant staying in the hotel again—a place where we had already experienced the worst night ever - the unfulfilled promise has only added to our frustration.

Furthermore, despite reaching out to your management team on multiple occasions, we have yet to receive a response. This lack of communication is unacceptable and further compounds our dissatisfaction.

Brand new hotel in Sydney. We were treated to a room upgrade I think which was amazing.(or at least one on the corner facing darling harbour ?)

Lovely view, huge suites with a great circular bathtub for a soak.

We took breakfast, unaware it’s not included in the room rate. I thought 110 dollars was a little steep for 2 and that when you pay 600 a night breakfast is included. Specially when we just have an omelette and a coffee.

The restaurant area also doesn’t serve the number of guests well.

We were lucky to dine early but there was a HUGE queue by 9.30am.

We were also given a voucher for 25 off mini bar but then it didn’t seem to be applied to our account(despite asking politely via email) 🙃.

But the staff were lovely. Not the hushed professionalism of a 6 star place but very attentive, smiling.

I’d consider staying again, but with eyes wide open on the rate paid.

I’d appreciate a simple breakfast offering that was quick and easy. It’s lavish though if that’s what you are after.

A five-star standout in the heart of Sydney Darling Harbour! From the moment you step inside, W Sydney impresses with its sleek design and welcoming atmosphere and a bar. The service was impeccable—every staff member was courteous, professional, and genuinely attentive. The top-level bar is a must-visit, offering stunning panoramic views of the city skyline, perfect for sunset cocktails. The rooftop pool adds a touch of luxury, making it an unforgettable spot to unwind. Between the breathtaking views and the consistently excellent service, W Sydney delivers a truly elevated experience.

W Sydney – Family Stay (Long Weekend, Mid-June)| • Hotel is quite new and very conveniently located in the heart of Darling Harbour.| • Stunning, modern foyer and main entrance.| • Check-in was smooth and friendly.||Challenges:| • Hotel was extremely crowded all weekend.| • Communal areas were consistently overpacked.| • Staff were working hard but clearly overwhelmed and exhausted.| • Major issue: Breakfast wait time of at least 45 minutes.| • No drinks or snacks were offered during the wait; disappointing, especially when compared to similar busy situations we’ve experienced at other W and Marriott properties across other countries, which have been handled far better.| • 2-bedroom apartment was fitted with fairly ordinary furniture and joinery; does not justify the premium price, especially against local 5-star competitors.||In summary; |This would have been a 3-star review based on the overall experience, but we’re giving an extra star purely for the floor staff who worked incredibly hard under pressure. Unfortunately, we are not looking forward to returning unless the hotel undergoes a major review to address these capacity and service issues.

Flew to Sydney from Melbourne for a trade show and had an amazing stay at the W. If I could give more than 5 stars I would as the customer service was second to none. We had a meal at the W restaurant on level three that was both delicious and theatrical. Our work trip did not seem so work as every need was catered for and the breakfast will be talked about for some time, YUMMY! I am writing this from the lounge bar where we are working on some trade show notes Beveridge in hand and enjoying the gorgeous views. I will be back with hubby for another wow experience soon! Love this place, my new favourite hotel, I highly recommend. 👌

It was a busy weekend, we had a national conference, so we had access to rooms and the fifth floor grand meeting room and the smaller breakout rooms.

Check-in was smooth when we arrived, very little fuss, checkout was done via the express drop off. Again it was simple.

Breakfast can be super busy at times especially over the weekend. I was lucky enough to get down early and was able to get a seat, a nice black coffee and an omelette of choice. Great selection of food as you would expect, but someone the comments here regarding the hustle and bustle of the breakfast session holds true.

The welcome bar was a nice place to have a drink at the end of the day, as was the rooftop bar on the top floor.

I use the gym once, a full techno gym Facility with all the usual piece of equipment, nice vibe well that accessible 24 hours. I did not use the pool.

Overall, my experience was good, the staff are pleasant, but it is a busy hotel, so expect it.
