I really enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere. Took a day trip to Flinders and sat in this restaurant feeling like I was on holiday.
We were very warmly greeted by the staff and had a nice table outside.

Everything tasted home made including the Penne pasta and left here very full;

Been back here recently sooner of the nicest scrambled egg we've ever had!

Would highly recommend this place and will be coming back. Thank you

Food was incredibly delicious and the service was impeccable. We visited for dinner and my husband and I both ordered a pizza. We also grabbed a slice and cake to enjoy at our hotel.

Would definitely recommend and would love to visit if we are ever in Flinders again!

Good cafe on the Flinders main street. Food was great (though the Chilli scrambled could do with more chilli), and the service was attentive but slow at times

A real gem!
Cafe owners take note of how the pros do it here at Village Cafe.
Clean and welcoming vibe, exterior and interior seating- takes bookings as well as walk up.
Menu compact to ensure quality and freshness but reasonably spread on options- PLUS a reasonably priced special.
Coffee pricing was low, up-front and simple.
Service was polite and professional, always there to look out for your needs but not cloying.
Food came out uber-quick- hot fresh and perfectly cooked along the 6 (SIX) different breakfasts served. Consistency counts.
The price was super reasonable ($20 for breakfast with coffee) but, for me, the piece de resistance was that they do not charge card fees! A real sign and symbol of customer care for the final flourish.
(Reading back over this review i am certainly gushing- but more because i am so happy that there exists a cafe that actually cares about its customer and wants to make the experience a total win.)
WELL DONE- I wish i was a local to enjoy this place more

The place has been here for sometime and still very well kept. From our arrival, we were met with a generous welcome. This even when they were understaffed for the day forcing us to sit outside which was a bit cold but was fine. Noticed a lot of locals so this place must be a tradition. The place was very clean, service was prompt and the food was above standard. The vegan salad was a bit bland, burgers did not stand out, pumkin soup excellent and hot throughout and the fish of the day a grilled baramundy was worth coming back for. Overall it was a very nice local experience and a must when visiting the area. Thank you guys we appreciate the hospitality.

My family and I ate at the Village cafe recently and had great expectations based on the reviews, but were severely disappointed. Firstly, the place needs a proper clean. The tables were so sticky that despite the waiter wiping them down, our books and phones stuck to them. The lights inside had cobwebs covering them, the air conditioning unit near the coffee machine was black with dirt and grime and the toilets were filthy. For some reason, the backs of the Bentwood chairs had the middle section of wood removed, so, not only were they uncomfortable, but unsafe, as my young children nearly fell backwards through them. The food was extremely average for the price and not enjoyable. The coffee was good. Unfortunately there are not many other options in Flinders. I hope that a good deep clean is undertaken soon so that customers can, at a minimum, dine in a clean environment.
