Location is amazing you can go anywhere cafe,bakery,pub and restaurants!
Just 5min to Clown st.
Here is no reception and staff most of time so some of new guests confusing of course I also.
If you have what’s up or GOKI,you can communicate with kindly staff on these apps.
Kitchen,fridge and food shelf are small for number of guests.
Sometimes smells unacceptable.
House cleaning is not so bad,everyday come to room and stairs to clean.
Anyway if I come back to Sydney,I’ll come again here is one of my favorite hostel in Sydney 🙂

No staff on site and exceptionally difficult to get hold of the alleged '24 hour remote' staff. I had safety concerns with someone letting themselves into my room, was sent to a different hostel for no reason (additional taxi charges) and since getting in touch after my stay staff have been useless and rude. Do not stay at this hostel

Stayed at Venus hostel second time. It is newly renovated and very neat.

Location is right next to bus stop, nice quiet neighborhood.

Self checkin and laundry are convenient for me too. I recommend for shorter stay.

AVOID!!!
They text me at 2:30pm on the day of my reservation and cancelled my booking due to overbooking! It was really a great experience to be left with no place to stay in a city you’ve just arrived?
I strongly would not recommend to anyone to book this place unless you’re not looking for trouble!

Worst hostel I’ve ever stayed
1/ The staff gave the wrong code for front door
2/ Cleaner kept forgetting to lock my door. I’ve talked to staff and it kept happening again! In the beginning the staff even claimed the cleaner didn’t come to my room that day and tried to blame it on me!
3/ The blanket is so light. Not even enough to keep me warm and they request to pay $10 for rent one more!
4/ You can hear loud footsteps from upstairs and it’s annoying in the morning

I stayed in the Venus Surry Hills for 2 weeks and it was such a nice experience. The hostel is located near CBD and there are bua stops around. The room is nice and clean. They also provided kitchen and washing room too. Overall it was a nice experience to stayed there for me.

No staff on site and trying to get in touch with staff is impossible. Security concerns with people letting themselves into our rooms. Made me go to another hostel to drop bag off and when I have emailed to raise these concerns slow responses and denial of all problems!! Terrible, avoid avoid avoid!!!
