This hotel is in a great location but that’s the only thing it has going for it.

We initially arrived for a late check in (organised prior) with nobody to greet us.
The room we were eventually taken to had no lock on the outside of the door, no tv, missing lights bulbs, dust and hair all over the floor, mould on the hairdryer cord, hair in the shower and a lumpy bed.
We stayed in this room for the night because it was 1am and we were exhausted.
The cleaner cleaned our room in the morning and took our toiletries from the bathroom and put them in our toiletry bags - including an unfamiliar, dirty make up brush.

The next afternoon, my husband requested a new room as we didn’t feel that our belongings were safe due to the unlockable door.
Our new room was an improvement but also needed a good scrub and vacuum.
The fire alarm went off twice in one morning but there was no fire plan so we were unsure of where we needed to go to evacuate.
The smoke alarm in our room was also covered by a plastic bag, rendering it useless.

Our room wasn’t cleaned for a further 4-5 days and the cleaner ate some of our expensive chocolates when he did eventually go through.
The manager did end up compensating for this.

Upon checking out, I overheard another guest asking the manager for the vacuum cleaner so she could vacuum her room - something that wasn’t done to ours the entire time we stayed.

The manager seemed pleasant during our interactions but the entire hotel seems like a front for something else.

ROACH INFESTED AND SCAMMERS!!!!!!!
THEY WILL SCAM YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rooms are covered with roaches, bathroom fixtures are BROKEN off the wall, have to hold the shower head to shower, roaches in room and in lobby. When you bring up the issues they 1. Laugh and 2. Give excuses as “well it’s an old hotel”. No empathy towards guests.
Lucy laughed in my face when I brought up the issues….

Summary of issues in my room:
Cockroaches on floor.
Cockroaches that blew out of AC unit once turned on.
Broken television.
Torn down curtain exposing my entire hotel room to the public, I had to tie it close for privacy.

After mentioning the issues they said they would offer me a refund of $100AUS, when I emailed asking when I would get it they said “ We cannot issue refund like this because we didn’t receive a single cent from 3rd party against your booking. I have already mentioned that refund will be original payment method which is your 3rd party payment. Because you paid to 3rd party not directly to HOTEL. Nothing is ridiculous, but a procedure to change everything while a booking is ongoing. Refunding you on checkout day is my decision which breaks all the protocols and procedures. Otherwise, refund would be via 3rd party issued in 10 days.

Since, you have checked out at 6:30 am without mentioning to anyone made difficult for us to issue refund directly (must understand refund never issued before checkout).
So, either you can send us card no and exp date to receive refund or wait for 3rd party to release.
And last thing, how come we can release automatic refund…DO WE HAVE YOUR CARD OR BANK DETAILS”

What’s funny is I TOLD LUCY I LEAVING EARLY IN THE MORNING.

I recently stayed at Uno Hotel and found it to be a decent experience for the price. The bed and pillows were comfy, the sheets were clean, and the warm water was reliable. We had an unexpected extra single bed in our room and a small kitchen, which, though unused, was a nice touch. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

However, the property is in disrepair. The curtains were barely hanging on the wall, the main light had a hole in the ceiling with exposed wires (which felt dangerous), there was black mould in the bathroom, and the bathroom tap didn't work well.

Despite these issues, I was pleased with the value for money and the great location. If they invest in fixing up the rooms to ensure safety and improve conditions, I'd give them a 5-star rating for value.

We have been here for a few hours now and this is what we've found.
I had to reattach the toilet seat as it was about to fall off. I went and bought some globes so we wouldn't have to peer at one another in the gloom.
The tele wouldn't work so we were given another one (without a remote) together with a hair dryer that was sposed to be there plus a second cup. The floor is very wavy near the bathroom. And... no exhaust fan. Not hot drink stuff. And just then a dirty big cockroach crawled across the wall.
And I thought Potts Point was posh!!!!
At least we have towels (no bathmat or hand towel or face washer.)
And...wait for this! To get the lift to the 1st floor, you have to tell it to go to the 2nd floor and then come down to the first!!
I reckon this is one for the pool room!

I understand you get what you pay for but I didn’t pay to have someone else’s underwear hanging from the wall, mold, cracked flooring, rubbish left over or someone else’s razor left behind in the shower.

Also, no one was at reception and I had to call numerous times and wait around 20-30 mins just to check out. It would have been a shame if I had some where to be.

Other than that, lovely location and the room itself was spacious I guess ‍♀️

Scam property.
Try calling them? I can't believe expedia still has them listed. Been trying to get in contact with them for 1 month, both I an expedia with no reply. Am now pursuing refund through my bank.
Expedia let me book at 10:50pm as my flight was cancelled. Upon booking and paying I get an email stating check in is available till 9pm and the they are closed... so they let me book after they had closed. The phone number does not connect and the email from expedia is signed as below with no email address...

Don’t stay here. It’s not worth the savings.

The property is not what it looks like in the images and is badly worn out. In my view this place shouldn’t even be operating. They’re not even trying to provide an adequate budget hotel.

Our room had tiles missing in the bathroom, no bathroom ventilation, mould stains in the bathroom, an almost-hole in the ceiling above the shower, a window that didn’t latch or close fully, broken glass behind the toilet, cracks/soft spots in the floor, plaster patches on the walls, no electric jug/kettle, two lights that didn’t work, a badly worn and stained couch, a poorly draining bathroom sink, torn bed bases, a dust-filled heat pump, insufficient crockery/cutlery (only one mug, no knives… despite sleeping three people), and no dishwashing liquid or brush/cloth. And it smelt like smoke after the person before us had obviously smoked in the room (there was literally a plastic bag hair-tied over the smoke alarm, which hotel staff hadn’t noticed or taken down).

The Wifi was terrible and dropped out every 30 seconds.

Thankfully the beds were comfy and sheets were clean.

If all you need is a bed for a night and running water, it might be okay. But if you want to feel comfortable and safe, don’t stay here.

We were “upgraded” to our room because the one we booked was apparently being renovated, and while we were told about the “issue” of tiles missing in the bathroom and said we were fine with that, we weren’t told about the disgusting bathroom ceiling above the shower, or any of the myriad other issues with the room. We asked hotel reception for an electric jug and they said they would sort something, but it never happened.

Location is good near King’s Cross station and is in a nice part of town, with many supermarkets and restaurants. Hotel staff waived the $100 deposit for us (presumably because the room was already so damaged that we couldn’t make it any worse!!).

But again, not worth it.

Rooms were spacious, with a kitchenette, fridge and microwave, the bathroom had a decent size too.

Very close to shops and the train station.

The hotel wasn't maintained properly, lift can be scary, reception area and hallways are dusty, dirty and smelly.

If you're looking for a cheap stay and don't mind the mold and cockroach. This is for you.
