What a beautiful masterpiece! It was an absolute pleasure to experience VOCES8 at Ukaria last night. Beyond the performance, the whole evening was magical - the foggy drive up to the venue, the alluring sound of water trickling as you walk up the garden path, the intricate timber ceiling - this place is just beautiful

What a beautiful venue, set in lovely gardens with a labyrinth and a series of cascades. Steep path for those pushing a wheelchair! Floor to ceiling windows, great acoustics. I was taking part in an a Capella workshop.

Imagine an immersive experience where every fibre of your being is awashed in the ebbs and flows of each note as the instruments combine in harmony to make beautiful music. That is the magic of music at Ukaria. Last night was a tribute to Miles Davis and jazz. Can’t wait to see James Morrison play here in September.

A beautiful place. The Steiner inspired building, garden, and conception of music, art, and togetherness are situated in the magnificent surrounds of the Adelaide Hills bushland. This is a generous gift to the community and a great resource for the community.

Fantastic music venue. The seats are very comfortable and well tiered providing everyone with a good view. The gardens are fantastic and, although the walk is a bit steep, it is worth the effort as you get to see all the lovely flowers in bloom. I have now attended at different times of year and have been impressed with the garden every time.

A beautiful venue. Great acoustic sound and stunning views. The technicians did a great job of supporting the natural sounds with some well-balanced mixing.

Gorgeous venue with superb acoustics. Fabulous garden too. But no public transport from Adelaide.

Replying to the owner: I was on a bumpy bus when writing the above. I meant to give 4 stars but evidently hit a bump, giving 2 stars by mistake. I have now corrected that, but my apologies for the earlier mistake.

I do not blame Ukaria for the lack of public transport, and I think it is doing its best under awkward circumstances. Adelaide seems to have the worst public transport of any mainland state capital. It would be a big help if Adelaide Metro, which runs a reasonable service to Mt Barker at least on weekday daytimes, would add a stop within a reasonable walk of Ukaria, together with good sign-posting. (It could also do with adding reasonable access to the summit of Mt Lofty, together with good sign-posting from a suitable stop to the summit.)

Ukaria really is a lovely venue if only one could reach it, which requires either a car or one of the relatively expensive options (for a senior) listed.
