Tweed River Hacienda Holiday Park - Chinderah, New South Wales

Very disappointed in the Hacienda. I have been going there for the past 25 years. Love the place and have started taking my young family. Such a great spot on the tweed river camping in our pop top van. Kids have such a great time fishing and taking in the views. ||Went to recently book to head down and have just been told that they do not take holiday makers. Absolutely disappointed and heart broken as this was my one thing I really loved and to pass this onto my kids as they love the place as well. ||What a shame that they have taken this park away from us holiday makers who just want to get away and enjoy family time camping.

This place is constantly maintained by the grounds-men & cleaners 7 days a week. Sure it's an old place, but who cares, it's clean & tidy.
Management & most staff aren't here to be your friend I've noticed, but their straightforwardness does keep things simple.
If you want to get away from the rat race, or the plastic Gold Coast, you'll like it here.

A park from the old days. This park would have been full of holiday makers at one time. Now it has mostly permanent residents and large van homes. There are lots of toilets and showers a basic pool and BBQ/ perhaps camp kitchen and hardly any people. The remaining row of sites are generous in size backing onto the Tweed River. They are strict no pets, no camp fires. It is a short bike ride to beaches and the light house.

Boyfriend owns a tent here guess it's ok. There's a drunk dude who parks his bike in the local pool bushes and Margaret and Sandra are nice they say hi on there morning stroll.

Quiet a nice campground.
Mainly permanents, but the camping area is right on the rivers edge.
A strip of about 20 or so sites.
Facing west over the green lawns and looking over the tweed river.
Beautiful evening sunsets with Mount Warning in the distance.
Great fishing too.
Just off the highway and less than 10 minutes to Kingscliff.
You could easily cycle there too, without having to cross the Hwy.
There is a fish and chip shop across the road and a neat pub about 500 walk, which over looks the river as well.

Only let let down is the occasional jet that's flies over, landing or taking off from the Coolangatta airport.
But it didn't really bother us too much. It's not Sydney airport after all.
Plus weekends quiet a bit of jetski traffic taking off from the boat ramp next door, no big deal.

The Manager and Park handyman abused me for parking out the front of My mother's house that she owns .to unload some things for My mother yet other residents are allowed to park there for over half hour .when I confronted them as to why .I was banned .I'm my mother's carer and next of Kin .The Manager is discriminating of indigenous people. But not anyone else. The park handyman Barry drives around drunk and puts stickers on only the cars he wants to pick on .The amenities aren't cleaned properly. The grounds not much better .Take My advice. Don't stay there .there's much nicer ones to stay in .The owner of this park need better staff and to take Better care of the permanent residents who pay him rent

Extremely rude - called us back 5 days after leaving a message saying they had sites, said we would call back tomorrow to book and they said they had heaps of room. Call back and all booked out and the woman on the phone was extremely rude and laughed at me for trying to make a booking.

Ours kids got us a cabin for our anniversary, the cabin was clean, it had everything we needed. The checkin was simple and despite the rain all weekend, the view was still beautiful. I would absolutely stay again and would recommend a stay there
