Lovely self contained room with beautiful surroundings and views, walks and atmosphere. |BYO food and drinks. Quick drive to a lot of walks, view points and gorgeous spots. Highly recommend for an escape from the city noise and pace. A lovely stay

We slept so well in this tranquil setting. The beautiful 4 poster bed was so comfortable and it was very cosy when we finally decided to light the fire.|It was lovely to be away from the tv and enjoy the surroundings and each other’s company. |Thank you for the port and the chocolates were delicious. |Rosemary and Russell were friendly hosts and made sure we were comfortable.

The last couple of reviews pretty well said it all. We had 2 nights in the Rose Gum Cottage and loved the attention to detail in recreating the ambience of an old cottage. The port and chocolates by the fire at night was really nice. A library of books and cd's added to the comforts. After putting out the bird seed we had several visits which was great. The shower was one of the best we had tried.||Our only warning is that the steep stairs to the bedroom with the toilet downstairs may not suit everyone. A nightlight at the bottom of the stairs would also be a nice addition.

This cottage tucked away in the treetops provides a perfect retreat for those wanting to escape to quieter times. The ambiance is perfect, your first impression is one of being wrapped in comfort with large comfy couches, a wood fire with plenty of wood at the ready, and being welcomed with a lovely personal note, chocolates and port. It was the small personal touches that we appreciated the most like the provision of a container of bird seed, a coffee machine with ground coffee, the lavender bath salts for the claw foot bath, candles for that perfect romantic feel. This place made you feel welcomed in every way. ||From every window and the privacy of your own balcony you are surrounded by trees and bird song, the views look down over beautiful Samford Valley and the D'Aguilar State Forest. A very special place to go for that overdue R & R. Well done Rose and Russell! We will definitely be coming back!

We stayed at Turkey's Nest for my husbands birthday weekend. We arrived at late afternoon and had rung before hand for the owners to put the fire on. What a sight it was to arrive through the foggy mountains to our cabin with the fire roaming the living room! ||Cabin has no TV and limited internet connection (no Wi-Fi) but you don't need either, relaxing in front if the fire and just playing old school trivial pursuit was just what we needed. Cabin as all the amenities you'd need for the weekend and to top that electric blankets if you should need them and a massive claw bath with a rainforest view. ||You can hear birds all around the cabin, our favourite was the bell birds. Also had a visit from a friendly possum at night time. Cabin has an easy access to Samford village for a day outing and Mount Glorious village has few cafes open for breakfast. ||Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, privacy, quorky decor in the cabin and just the sights of the nature all around us. Highly recommended!

We are regular visitors to Turkey's Nest but this was our first stay in the Macadamia Suite accomodation.||Since there were only 2 of us this time, we were delighted with this option. The atmospheric suite has the same charm and ambience of the stand alone cottages but is attached to the main house. Privacy reigns supreme and you have your own entrance and verandah area. This has multiple lounging and table seating options with wonderful elevated views over and through the rainforest. At night the lights of the city twinkling through the trees were divine. The suite has a huge main room, delightful and romantic bathroom and if you are looking for it, ample 'cooking' facilities in another small separate room.||The theatrical four poster was one of the more comfy beds I've ever stayed in.||Well done to the hosts Rose and Russell.|| A magical spot and we will be back again.

My husband and I have just spent four nights at Turkey's Nest from 4-8 November, 2013.
What a delightful hideaway it is. Our batteries are really re-charged and we can't wait to go back.
Our cottage was so welcoming, hidden in the rainforest. It is cool on the mountain so we lit a log fire each night. What a bonus to sit there and talk, drink, eat and relax in this environment.
A huge bonus was NO television.
We loved the bird life and the big fat possum who came to visit us.
Rose makes the best truffles, and together with a nightly port, we were in paradise.
What a great find, and what a great birthday treat.

My wife and I stayed in the Rose Gum Cottage for 3 nights celebrating 30 wonderful years together. We were looking for a place to stay where we could relax and escape from the usual daily routines. This cottage met our every need - secluded, rustic and very restful environment. Surrounded by rainforest you could sit and quietly contemplate life on the private verandah and sitting room facing out over the Samford valley. Our hosts made sure the cottage had everything you need to escape away. It was also convenient though with the small touches to make sure you could relax!
