Stopped off for lunch at The Lodge and it was great. |The staff had been having a very busy day already with breakfast service and they were catching up a little.|But everyone was really helpful, food and service was great and we had a terrific meal, Large spacious dining room with a bar, plenty of seating and views out to Lake Rosebery.|A nice varied menu with traditional pub food and morei,pizzas, specials of the day etc and many other options. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.|Would happily dine here again, pretty busy I'd definitely recommend booking a table especially for dinner service.

The most stunning location, really beautiful views. Kayaking was great. Food was overpriced and so heavy! After a day or two my guts were off and I desperately wanted to order something healthy and high fibre but there were no such options on the menu. Staff were pleasant enough but seemed to get frustrated easily or were a little disinterested. The rooms were uncomfortable unfortunately. You can hear everything in the corridors and there is so much light coming in through the cracks in the doors that we found ourselves waking up multiple times a night. The light from the cracks would shine directly into our eyes. As we didn't have sleeping masks we got creative and slept with sweaters on our faces, blocked the light with our bags and clothes and tried sleeping with our heads at the bottom of the bed but nothing really worked. With some renovations and new menu options, this place could be a knockout holiday destination.

First the good. The location on the lake is stunning. Unfortunately that's where the good ends. Here's a list of all that is not so good:

Noisy. The walls are paper thin.
No wardrobe
Nowhere to put your suitcase
No extra blankets
No iron/ironing board
No soap in the shower, only body wash attached to the wall on the other side of the bathroom. I couldn't even remove the bottle to take into the shower.
Shower went cold from time to time.

And now for the bistro. They have a weird system for ordering. You look at a menu on the other side of the room and you have to remember what you want, then go to the bar to order it. I actually forgot by the time I got there and had to go back. How hard would it be to have a menu where you order? The food was pretty awful. It was all overcooked. The veggies were soggy and the flathead a bit dry.

If I do this trip again I won't stay here. It's only another 40mins to my next stop at Cradle Mountain. Would have been better to keep driving.

Stayed here for a week for work and was blown away
Great food at the restaurant, the staff were friendly and even when it was very busy meals still came out in a decent time. Didn’t have a single complaint about the food!

Rooms were simple but comfy, exactly what I’d expect

Absolutely recommend staying here for work or holidays!

Our rooms were Lake View, which were perfect - scenery is quite stunning. The hotel has its own restaurant with open fires which was very comfortable with a menu full of choices ( we couldn't resist the Parma and pint special).|Rooms are comfortable with all necessary facilities.

We stopped here for an early lunch with a group of 9 adults and it was a fabulous choice. On the lake with lovely views, great range of food choices on the menu, good value and friendly staff. Would recommend stopping here on our way from Strahan to Cradle Mountain

After wonderful, well priced accommodation around the West Coast we were looking forward to staying here for our last night. We were so disappointed! Walking into the passage we found it filthy dirty, smelly and extremely bleak. It desperately needs an update! The rooms are tiny and are also desperately in need of an update! Can't believe they can charge $160/night for this!

Beautiful scenic location. Lovely views across the lake and excellent services. Local producers featured across the bar to the restaurant. Excellent versatile spaces for functions with views from every aspect. Great for children, families and couples. Lovely staff. Highly recommended.
