Tukawyl Retreat is the perfect place to get some much needed quiet and respite, tucked away in the rural area of Lansborough, close to Beerwah, and perfect location if you're planning to visit Australia Zoo!
Wendy went above and beyond with her great service, picking me up from Lansborough train station, when both taxi and uber were a no-show! Just a word of warning about getting transport in that area: not reliable, and you're better off hiring a car if possible. Wendy can give you the number of a taxi driver who can assist, but keep in mind, he has to service a very large area and may not be able to do things on very short notice.
Also keep note that this is a rural area, so if you're planning to go, drive slowly and carefully, as there is a lot of local wildlife around the property, especially the lovely kangaroos (please keep in mind, these are wild animals, so do not try to run after them or pat them etc as you will frighten them).
Also keep shower to around 5 minutes, as in rural areas, they rely on a tank.
It's a beautiful area full of unique flora and fauna, the sunsises are an amazing experience to watch there, you see the kangaroos at dawn and dusk, and the unique and amazing different bird calls, and the fresh air... things you don't experience in urban areas.
Also great place to unwind and find inspiration if you're an artist/author.
Inside the property: Very clean and tidy, spacious, you don't feel closed in, there is both airconditioning and overhead fan in bedroom and a portable fan in the living room area. There is a book shelf full of books for the avid reader and also some games like chess board, I think there were other board games but I didn't investigate what else was there.
Bathroom is clean and tidy and the flooring and stone flooring inside the shower cubicle is interesting and pretty.
There is a small kitchenette with a fridge, but there is no kitchen sink (on a positive note, I guess no need to do dishes!)
There is a toaster and microwave and Wendy does place some bread in the fridge, if you want to make toast in the morning. You will also find in the fridge, vanilla yoghurt, milk, mini fruit salad in syrup, and butter, to eat for breakfast. Also there is cereal and some tidy teddy biscuits, and tea and coffee condiments.
You will probably find yourself sitting back in the very comfy couch in the living room - I personally didn't like the chairs in the dining room section of the living room, I found them a bit hard/too sturdy, but that will differ from person to person I guess, as some may find the couch too plushy and will prefer the chair.
There is a window in the bedroom which has a fly screen so if you prefer to just have a window open while you're sleeping, that's an option. I didn't investigate the other windows in the place, as I didn't require them, I personally left the front door open and just locked the fly screen door, while I sitting in the living room.
The bed is very comfortable by the way, it's queen size, and there is a mini wardrobe with hangers if you want to hang clothing. There is also ample space to store things as there a large chest of drawers and some more drawers near the beside. Also of course there is a flat screen TV (located in bedroom) but I didn't end up using it, as I was mostly using my phone to access media.
Note: Bring your own internet source, as there is no wifi there. My mobile phone was sufficient for me personally. (If you have a laptop, you can just use your phone's hotspot feature and connect)
Note: This is a serene and quiet area, probably not suitable if you like to play your stereo loud and make a lot of noise.
There is a pub in Lansborough, opposite the train station, I don't know if they have accommodation there as well, but that would suit a person who likes a bubbly nightlife with a meal and beer!

Thankyou Wendy & Steve for a most relaxing night . After a big day @Australia Zoo , was lovely to be welcomed into a calm space , with everything we needed. Would love to stay again to explore surrounding areas . Highly recommend Tukawyl .
