A lovely location with excellent food and a gracious and wonderful proprietor. I stayed at Truffle Lodge in November 2024 with a group and inadvertently left my camera behind. When I got back to the USA, I sent an email inquiring if I might have left the camera at Truffle Lodge. Laurelle responded almost immediately and was extraordinarily gracious and helpful in returning my camera, safe and sound. She is the best.

Awesome experience just an hour away from Hobart.
The place is beautiful and relaxing. Not only the tents are super comfortable, there are shared area where you can relax by the fire place and spend some quality time with friends and family.

The Staff are all amazing and kind, serving us Breakfast, dinner and making our stay so much more memorable.

I have stayed at Truffle lodge on three occasions and must say each stay has been beyond memorable.||Not only the comfortable and luxurious tents but also the staff. Peter was our dinner host each evening and is the ultimate professional and entertainer. Peter’s sense of humour along with his food and wine knowledge is an invaluable addition to the lodge.

We based ourselves at gorgeous Truffle Lodge to explore the beautiful Derwent Valley. It is the perfect location to venture out during the day and then unwind in the absolute tranquility in the evening. The hospitality was exceptional and featured a simple, but delicious menu showcasing Tasmanian produce. Our accommodation was peaceful and unique, the glamping tents are wonderful with pretty views of the river and farmland beyond from the large decks. Staying here was one of the highlights of our trip to Tasmania. Our thanks to the staff who were all incredibly welcoming, knowledgable and fantastic hosts.

Truffle Lodge was exceptional! My boyfriend and I had an amazing weekend getaway, it felt like we were so far away from the city and our jobs. Sunrise on the first morning was so beautiful to wake up to, and breakfast was so delicious! ||||The attention to detail is really amazing, they have thought of everything. Mandy made us feel so at home, we were very well looked after. And it was great to meet the owners, Laurelle and John, too. ||||Would highly, highly recommend staying at Truffle Lodge!

Truffle lodge is a perfect escape for anyone trying to get away from the busy city life. My wife and I booked a tent along with a couple of our friends who booked a second tent.||From the outset, the staff at Truffle Lodge seemed to be very organised and welcoming. Few days prior to embarking on our adventure to Truffle Lodge, we were sent multiple emails regarding the Lodge and it's surroundings, along with inquries regarding our food preferences. ||The tent is definitely one of luxury, with almost all the amenities in it. We had a mini fridge, flask, dryers, heaters, a fan and a safe to name a few. While the tent is quite luxurious - it needs to be noted that it is a tent and that you may find a few spiders making themselves at home. But then again, that is a part of the adventure and the "glamping" experience. There are insecticides in the room - so there are means to get rid of any unwanted guests. ||The food at Truffle Lodge is really good as well. We were unable to fault any of the meals (breakfast & dinner). Breakfast tends to be the same every morning. Dinner on the other hand, changes every night. If you have any dietary requirements, let the staff know before hand, they will do their best to provide the best service.||We loved the living area at the lodge, which is separate from all the tents. There is a cosy, yet elegant vibe to it. We ended up spending time there (until 2 AM) chatting and playing board/card games. However, make sure to take a torch with you when going outside as it is quite dark during night time. While there are small path lights, they don't tend to be quite helpful. If you're lucky (or unlucky - depending on your preference towards wild animals), you will be able to meet a few of the resident wallabies, Tasmanian devils and possums. They only come out at night (at least in our experience).||Overall, Truffle Lodge is a fantastic place with great hospitality. Will definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for something different to the regular hotel stay.||A special mention to Tim for his hospitality throughout our stay. He manages the place very well. Also, a thank you to John for the lovely conversations, and to Madhu for her tidy housekeeping work and welcoming nature.
