We came here some years ago and enjoyed our meals but it just isn't the sameplace that it once was.
The best thing about this cafe is the view. A truly sensational view and that is why there are four stars for atmosphere.
We arrived late lunch to avoid the expected lunch time peak and neither the deck or the inside areas were full. The vacant tables hadn't been cleared though so we cleared a table for us.
The menu that was available was VERY limited. Just burgers and chips really, but that's OK. It's not the same cafe that it once was.
There was no queue to place an order but the staff member clearly wanted to be anywhere but there, was not friendly at all, but she was probably stressed. The reason why became apparent later.
Our coffees arrived after about 15 minutes and we wondered what had happened. They were just understaffed and inexperienced.
Even though we asked for our coffee to be extra hot it was served tepid. Barely warm. It was also very pale and didn't have much flavour. The flavour also wasn't very nice but that is a personal thing.Truly one of the worst coffees that have ever had.
We became aware of other patrons asking about their meals, but they all ordered before us. One couple cancelled their order and asked for a refund after asking about their meal, twice. I overheard that they had been waiting 45 minutes.
We watched a few meals come out of the kitchen hoping that one would be ours, and then one of the staff locked the doors to entry. It was 2:45, and by that time we had been waiting 45 minutes since we ordered. My wife asked about out meals and was told that they were coming. She asked what the hold up was and was told that they were busy. They weren't THAT busy. No idea what they would have done if the place was full.
Our burgers finally arrived an hour after we ordered them. The chips were almost cold when served and I left most of mine. The burgers were good. Nice and tasty.
They locked the doors 15 minutes before closing time but I think that was to stop people coming in and asking where their meals were. There had been a sign placed on the serving bar 15 minutes before that informing customers that the kitchen was closed.
So, the coffee was awful the chips were close to cold and almost inedible but the burgers were good. Waiting an hour for two burgers is unacceptable.
If you read through all the other reviews you can see that this is not something new. It has been going on for the 11 months that I looked back on. My mistake was not reading the reviews BEFORE I visited.
It is just easier to eat on site, and the view is exceptional but if you want good food and good service then go somewhere else.

The eggs Benny I had was really yummy and the view is gorgeous. One thing I will say is that they seem to be severely understaffed to cope with the Sunday rush, as I noticed the cashier going out the back to help with the kitchen even though there was a long line of people standing there, and a lot of tables weren’t cleaned up. However the three staff that were on (especially the male barista) on Sunday 25th May between 10-11am were really good and professional with dealing with the stress. With more staff on, it would be the most amazing cafe.

The cafe was busy when we got there as it was lunch time.

I rate this place 3 out of 5 because our mum is coeliac and we've informed the order taker about it and it looks like he didn't understand as mum had a reaction a day after we've eaten here.

GF food is different from coeliac friendly food, and looks like there was a cross contamination of gluten when mum's food was being prepared.

There was also a missed order of 1 bacon and egg toast but the lady fixed it for a few mins.

The rest tastes delish, the ambience is astounding, the service could be improved and food handling also. Hope this can be improved as the cafe has a lot of potential.

I am not usually one to write reviews however I was visibly shocked with the below average food that was served. I ordered the smashed avo which was a smear of avo topped with a huge bunch of soggy bagged lettuce. The venue is one of the most stunning locations for a cafe yet the food was more what you would expect from an industrial park cafeteria. We will pack a lunch next time.

Panorama view and stunning canopy of wisteria in late September/early October. Cafe is full of natural light. The food is underwhelming: sourdough toasts taste like deep-fried toasts; fried egg and bacon both taste burnt.

The view was amazing! The food was great too, but the amount of bacon & egg we got on a bacon & egg toast was a bit depressing. Soup was great and the cafe was super cute.

Great location.

Waited for 40 minutes for food. Followed up 2 times during that time. Ended up requesting a refund as there was no certainty given for any further timeframe. Maybe the kitchen was understaffed on the busy Mother’s Day Sunday.

Coffee was ok.

Terrible experience - Avoid!

I would give this place zero stars if I could. We visited during a busy long weekend, and the service was nothing short of a disaster. We waited 30 minutes just to place our order, only to endure another agonizing one hour wait for our food. When it finally arrived, they got our order wrong! To top it off, they had only two people working during one of the busiest weekends of the year – completely understaffed. The view of the mountains might have been nice, but that was the only redeeming part of our visit. Definitely not worth the wait or frustration. Skip this place!
