Visiting for Melbourne we were pleasantly surprised with the lovely meal at the tavern bistro.
Ordered rump and scotch fillet and were cooked perfectly to our request. The side dishes of salad with a balsamic or vegetables with a sauce were delicious.
The staff service was great and were also happy to move our seating to a television for us to watch the cricket.

Visiting from Sydney and I have to say was definitely one of the best salmon and mashed potatoes I've had. The portions are
big and well priced. For $25, the meal was worth it. The only downside is that the area is located on Todd Mall, which is very sketchy and unsafe at night. For 2 girls from Sydney, you need to be vigilant. Despite the reputation of the area, the staff and food is excellent.

Weeellllll …that was different…Wednesday lunchtime before bottle shops open at 3..the public bars were rocking and the pokies were going gangbusters….the bistro was a bit quieter and we had a leisurely pot…easily the most authentic pub in town…I’m not sure if that’s a good or bad thing…you will have to make that decision yourself

Todd Tavern featured recently in national news due to some indigenous interclan feuding. That was some weeks ago and the local say it was sensationalised by the media who said there was ‘riots’ - nothing further from the reality and Todd Tavern is a great pub with good service and beer! ?

The food here is amazing. We came here without really knowing what to expect and we have been blown away by the quality of food. The menu is very limited but the choices should suit everyone. We ordered lamb blackstrap, and kangaroo fillet, both with potato gratin. Both were excellent. Our friends ordered vegetables and chips and they were also very good. I also ordered the Chef Salad which was also exceptional. This is a lovely old pub a little out of the centre of Alice but still very close to everything. Easy parking at the back of the hotel. Lovely staff - what more could you ask for. We are back here in a week and will definitely come here for dinner. Please don’t be put off by the limits on the menu - I would rather choose from a small menu of excellent food than a huge menu of average of terrible food.

Good pub for a beer has a full Tab and several TVs for sports.
Not always easy to get a beer, or maybe Sunday is a bad time after a big Saturday night.
Tried to get a Great Northern and the keg ran out on first schooner.
Tried Carlton Dry keg was completely out.
Finally enjoyed a quite ale there.
