I stayed at Thirroul Beach Motel for two nights, and found the rooms to be spacious and comfortable. I had a freak issue with the bathroom in my room on the first night, but that was amended so quickly by the owner despite it happening outside of service hours! They were so friendly and helpful and apologetic, and sorted me a different room for the next night with no fuss. Excellent service, great rooms for the price, good amenities, close to the train station and beach as well as local eateries; I loved not having to carry keys or a key card with me, and there's a bar/restaurant that recently opened next door that is also fantastic. I will likely stay here again when I return to NSW. Thank you for a wonderful couple of days!

For $149 on a Sunday night I’m very impressed. Stayed in room 7 it’s quite spacious with a table and 4 chairs, a queen bed (I think) and 2 bunk beds. The Queen mattress is is very comfortable but the bunk mattresses are so thin and springy, I have better beds for my dogs at home. Thankfully we didn’t need to use them. The place is neat, clean and looks like it’s just had a bit of a refurbish. Impressed with kitchen amenities compared to the expensive rydges we just stayed at in Melbourne. Bathroom is still old dated and quite pokey but we have found it to be very clean hopefully they can redo them in the future. For a cheap holiday, overnight stay or if you aren’t planning to stay in the apartment all day and prefer to be out and about it seems like the perfect place to stay on a budget!

What a little gem. $110 per night and it was money well spent. Perfectly situated with restaurants a 3 minute walk away. Quiet with everything you’d need. Clean, comfortable and we couldn’t believe the provisions. So many hotels, cabins etc are lacking in what they provide!!!! The Beach Hotel had breakfast provisions of cereal, milk, tea coffee etc and a small kitchen.

Worst.
No reception, no cafe /restaurant.
NOT beachside (have to walk considerable distance)
Toilet leaked all over floor when flushed.
Paper thin walls - pipes squeal, screech noise from units would wake the dead.
Staff riding mattresses like a skateboard through carpark while owner encourages.
Tiny, horrible outdated bathrooms. Didn't shower due to mould on shower floor.
Rooms are NOTHING like those shown in website

The Deluxe Queen room is spacious, featuring both a queen bed and a single bed, along with ample walking space and a simple kitchen area. Towels and shower amenities were neatly placed on the bed, and the room itself was clean. Its location is excellent, just a quick 4-5 minute walk to various shops, a supermarket, and eateries.
However, the bathroom was quite small, particularly the sink. I had to place the floor mat in front of it while using the sink to prevent water from splashing onto the floor. The shower head had a slight leak around the nozzle and the pipe connection, although the water pressure was acceptable.
The kitchen amenities were decent, with complimentary snacks and beverages stocked in the mini fridge. An iron and hairdryer were conveniently stored in the cabinet.
The bed was soft and comfortable, and the comforter kept us warm without needing to turn on the heater. However, traffic noise from the nearby road was noticeable in the morning, even though my room was in the middle of the building.
WiFi was strong and easy to connect.
Check-in had a slight hiccup. The reception, which appeared to be combined with the restaurant (Jose Jones), was closed for renovations. A note on the door instructed guests to call for check-in details, including the room number and PIN. As a tourist with only a data SIM card, I had to rely on another guest to make the call for me, but unfortunately, the room information I was given belonged to another guest. I ended up having to purchase an Australian SIM card with voice capabilities at the nearby supermarket.
After calling back, the staff was very apologetic, realizing the mix-up was due to a name confusion. They had sent an on-site staff member to assist, but I had already gone to the supermarket by the time they arrived. Eventually, the situation was resolved, and I was able to check in smoothly.
Check-out was hassle-free, as there’s no key. You simply leave the door open to signal that you’ve left, and the housekeeper can take over from there.

I had a wonderful weekend stay at Thirroul Beach Motel. The location is perfect, just steps from the beautiful Thirroul Beach. The room was clean, spacious, and equipped with all the essentials, including a mini-fridge, coffee maker, and a nice bathroom
The staff were friendly and helpful, providing great local recommendations. Thirroul Beach Motel combines a prime location, excellent amenities, and warm hospitality. I highly recommend it and will definitely return!

The bathroom really let this motel room down (Room 16). One tiny basin, no shelf at all (two holes in the tiles where one had probably been), nowhere to put any toiletries, a small mirror too high for an average height lady, one half used toilet paper roll, fan so noisy you could not put the bathroom light on during the night for fear of waking your partner.

For 230 bucks on a Friday night in what was advertised as a "Deluxe Queen room" you get a mouldy bathroom, a rusty fridge, a view of a junkyard (thru a window that doesn't look like its been cleaned in years), two single beds put together and not even a bin! And the bedside table falls apart as well! There's no reception, just a phone number on a door to a room stacked with thin mattresses and in a complete state of disrepair. How the hell were these people local business finalists in 2019? You'll find that sign next to the phone number on the door.
Maybe it was just our room (11) because they leave room 1 with the blinds open so you can see how "Nice" the rooms are. Don't be fooled. Not sure whether or not to call the health department. But it IS near the beach. And the ONLY motel in Thirroul so you don't get much choice. Stay away!!
