Let’s start with the coffee, the undisputed star of the show. Smooth, well executed, it was like a tight morning hug in a mug.

The food, however, is where the wheels wobbled. My smashed avocado arrived looking like it had potential—well-seasoned with a minimalist presentation. But the overcooked egg perched on top was a letdown, like someone had RSVP’d “yes” to the invitation but didn’t read the dress code. The sprinkling of tomato was light, I half expected it to blow away in the Fremantle breeze.

And then there’s the timing. One of my biggest gripes: staggered meals. It’s as if the kitchen staff operate across multiple time zones, and the concept of “eating together” is a foreign policy issue. Watching someone else eat while you wait (or vice versa) is not exactly the bonding experience I had in mind.

Third Wheel Café lives up to its name—good company when you’re in the mood for coffee, but perhaps not the main event.

Very nice coffee!
The business started 6 years ago and this cafe is frequented by many loyal patrons. A very nice place for chit chat and relaxation too. Very friendly, helpful and nice staff. I enjoyed a short chat with one of the staff who approached me. The decoration was very unique, and the table number was a bottle containing a plant.

Great discovery, always wanted to try it and finally stopped by on a busy Sunday. The truffled ricotta brioche was a hit! Simple but so tasty and pricing was reasonnable too. Highly recommend!

Cute and quirky South Fremantle cafe, great coffee, friendly service and yummy food. Had toasties and the smashed Avocado. They do toast to die for. It was my daily at a recent visit to Freo. Love it!!

Unlike some grumpy people here we found that place unique with a great "Freo Spirit". The atmosphere was very relaxed and the staff was super helpful. They have a good selection of cold and hot drinks and some interesting new dishes on the menu. The smashed Avo and truffle toast we ordered where so tasty and not too pricey for the portion you've got. Coffees where great too! We will definitely come back after our morning beach walk 👍

How not to be a regular? Just love the atmosphere, the coffee is really good and the food impressive, I had the truffle toast and was spot on!
Close to the beach in south Fremantle I, what else would I want ? 10/10

Dog friendly🐕 lovely seating area outside with blankets. Small cafe, menu is very limited but the sandwiches were so delicious! Flavours not too strong and well balanced. The bread was amazing.
