So we didn’t make a booking and just winged it. It was for dinner around 6 pm.
Unfortunately for us - they had a table free so we sat down and decided what to order . 5 adults.
Not a fan of ordering myself then being slapped with surcharge on card too as a bonus.
I should have known better but decided to grab the daily special : chicken schnitzel ( against my better judgment) but it comes with fries and salad and after all how challenging is it really to do a simple schnitzel. Apparently , very. And grubby.
The “ chicken “ was either re- fried as someone’s order from an hour ago or the chucking meat wasn’t good to start with.
It was nuked to extra crispy dry slab. Mushroom sauce was gravox- chips were not seasoned at all and the salad didn’t have any dressing on it ( look at the pic )
- I should have returned it then but I didn’t. I ate 1/3 of it before I couldn’t anymore. ( my stomach/ mouth just refused to cooperate- was strange as I was hungry)

1 person in our group finished their meal - bucket of prawns ( I guess you didn’t cook those - lucky person). Everyone else made it to 50% of their meal before giving up.
Even fish and chips that we ordered were not edible.

At 3am, the following morning I saw those chicken pieces again. Thanx for that.

We had a lovely lunch here today! Beautiful prawns and pork belly was really good too. Great service. Very friendly and relaxed. We’ll definitely be back on our next holiday.

Our recent dining experience was truly elevated by the outstanding service provided by two incredible French waiters at this restaurant. From the moment we walked in, their welcoming presence and professional demeanor set the tone for a perfect evening.

They must’ve been having a bad day, but we didn’t enjoy our dinner today. Took about half an hour for some tough bread to arrive as a starter, and nearly another half hour for a kind-of-warm chicken burger and some room-temperature fish tacos. It left a whole lot to be desired. There were maybe two dozen other guests, perhaps they arrived and ordered moments before we did and we simply hadn’t noticed a giant queue.. but the staff just seemed disorderly and not up to the task today. Perhaps coming here in the off-season isn’t the best idea, you may want to pop by somewhere else during the wet season. Great view and atmosphere, lovely seating area, right next to the shore!

We came up from Sydney for a week in Port Douglas in January 2025 and we ate here more than any other restaurant in town. The food is fantastic - the falafel and the wagyu rump were particularly amazing but everything was excellent. Super chilled, lovely staff. Kids meals were great and our 3 young kids will remember the ice-cream sandwiches. Highly recommend.
