Honestly, this is my favorite hotel in Sydney Australia. They make me feel like family here the first time I got here. I stayed for four nights and ended up staying for almost 3 weeks. The rooms are lovely. The staff are amazing. The service is impeccable. I’ve been to Sydney Four times and stayed here each time. Definitely a top choice for me and I’m going to be visiting Australia a lot and as long as they have rooms available, I will always stay here. The staff are some of the most friendliest people I’ve ever met very Clean rooms the food is amazing downstairs at the bar and they have an awesome rooftop bar. close enough to everything but in a quiet section of Darlinghurst. Definitely recommend this place.

We had a very nice stay at The Strand this weekend. Check in was easy and the manager kindly helped us with our luggage’s up the stairs. We had the Petite Plus room on level 2, even though we were on William st , we hardly heard any street noise at all. The room was nicely presented, probably a paint touch up would spruce things up. And new carpets in the general hallway and stairs. We had a lovely meal and cocktails up on the rooftop bar Kasbah.

Gone are the trappings of what was previously a mid market dining venue within the bar area.These days, the public area is back to being a standard pub with pub fare. Not a menu selection I would rave about, but atmosphere OK. Wine list is not extensive.

The steak and chips baguette $18 kept coming up on my facebook feed.
So I decided to try it today.
It was tasty but I felt the sour dough bread wasted toasted enough so a little soggy but the taste was there, not as I imagined after looking at their advertised pics and the staff asked me two times if every thing was ok and I said nothing so I’m not really complaining, just feedback.
I was taken back at the nearly $12 schooner that I ordered to accompany my lunch.
I should have ordered the Wednesday special , snitty salad and chips for only $20
I’ll give it a go next time.

I had a lovely stay at this pub/hotel. I was unexpectedly upgraded to a deluxe room which was an added bonus. My heavy suitcase was taken up 3 flights of stairs while I was waiting for check-in which I was very grateful for. My room was lovely and a bathrobe was even provided. There was a nice welcoming note as well. I had dinner in the pub bistro. I had a hankering for proper pub food after a holiday in India and I was not disappointed. My steak and mushroom pie with mashed potato was excellent. Then to top it off I had a cocktail in the rooftop bar which was nice and I was made to feel welcome on my own. A great stay.

Very happy and content with the service, such friendly and helpful staff that immediately took care of issues, etc. Great value for money in my opinion, best location, beautiful, modern, clean rooms and breakfast and water stations are add-ons. I would definitely book this one again 🙂

Impeccable Service!
I called the day before Melbourne Cup to see if The Strand could fit us in for a casual work lunch and drinks. Jason, who took my call, was incredibly accommodating, arranging a table and a view of the race at short notice.

When we arrived, we had the best seats in the house. Jason’s service throughout the day was outstanding—he handled our large food and drink orders seamlessly and made sure everything was spot-on. The Public Bar food was exceptional, a step above standard pub fare, with high-quality produce and the kitchen delivered our meals in unison (seven mains and four sides, all at a perfect temperature!).

I’ll definitely be back and can’t wait to check out the rooftop bar as well. Cheers!
