Inside the Services Club, this restaurant has a very basic club atmosphere, but the restaurant delivered very nicely. My chicken schnitzel was very tender and juicy (chips great and healthy, fresh salad). My wife's order of a 'full size' lamb roast with vegies was so big that she couldn't finish it. Lamb very tender and juicy too. She should have ordered the seniors special, which is smaller.

My son and I turned up late (closer to 8pm on a quiet Sunday night) and ordered two meals - a steak meal and a chicken burger. Service was excellent - nothing was a problem and the meal was served quickly.
The steak was surprisingly good. I had just done a BBQ course on how to cook meat a few weeks earlier and one of the things I learnt at that was that steak is often under-seasoned. But The Stones nailed it. The seasoning was excellent, and the medium steak was - medium! Chips were perfect, and could not fault them.
I didn't have high expectations when I walked in given this was a club and not a fine dining restaurant, but my experience was much better than I thought and I would certainly recommend The Stones as a place to visit and eat. This place has better than normal RSL/Pub style food and I think most people would be pleasantly surprised with the food. We were passing through town but would not hesitate to return if/when we are back through.

The experience was great and we will go back again. The meal was lovely except for the salad. Lettuce with half a cherry tomato does not a salad make. The other issues, not exclusive to this place, is why can't management arrange tables so there is distance between two dinners and a gaggle of girls? Lastly, management, take the time to teach your bar people how to pour a bloody beer properly.

Love country towns! They always deliver - super friendly staff and an awesome feed. My partner and I had the porterhouse and barramundi - both were cooked to perfection. Travelling back to Brisbane and can’t say I’ve had a decent pub steak like that in a long time. Keep up the good work!

All six of us enjoyed our meals on Wednesday night. Staff were very friendly and obliging. Prices reasonable. Children's play area a little noisy but we would definetly come back.
