I’d forgotten I had booked an apartment, so was very pleased with the kitchen and laundry. There was a really long hair hanging from one of the towels (I have short hair). The fire blanket bag was empty, and the back-of-door exit plan said “You are here”, but there was no dot to indicate where I was (I emailed that to the hotel and got no response). The bed was hard, so night 2 I tried sleeping the couch, but it was too short. The walk to the shops and railway was very short

A very well located hotel but which is really better catered towards budget travellers. Very minimal service provided, no housekeeping at all (I believe if you stay for a week this does happen), and lots of dirty elements of the room that reduced satisfaction. While the room was tidy and comfortable, it was not even slightly close to a 4 1/2 star hotel that was anticipated. There is no capacity to offer a cooked breakfast or cold buffet, so do not pay extra for the so-called breakfast, as you will only get a bag of items that you could buy yourself at the Woolworths practically next door for much less.

Stayed here recently with my family and it was such a great location! Included parking, although it was a bit confusing as it's mixed with permanent residents. Room itself was really nice, a great view to watch the sunset over the city. A few odd things in the room like the sink being unusually short and the toilet seat was pretty worn, but overall a really nice stay and would come here again. Love how close it is to the Westfield and the train station!

Beautiful service, rooms were decent but dated. Showers were old and room wasn't properly cleaned as there was a smoke butt on balcony and rubbish in the couches. Pool was good. Location was awesome. Terrible bed in master. View and kitchen was great

We stayed as a family of four after booking directly through the All Accor website. Elements of the room inclusions stated on the website were absolutely not provided, such as there was no coffee machine, no ice maker, certainly no pay tv or anything other than free to air, and no mini-bar. These were not an issue to us, but they should not state that this is part of the room when it is not. ||It also provided the option to pay more for breakfast being included. When we checked in, we were offered a paper bag with some cereal as the breakfast. I said no, that's not what a reasonable person expects from an included breakfast at a hotel. Even if it was what they did usually, this should be very clearly stated in the website so you can make an educated decision about whether to pay extra for it. I did not accept the bag, and requested a partial refund of the extra cost I had paid. The manager on duty said he understood and I did not take possession of the bag at any time. He said he would chase up my request for the refund of the breakfast, but after reminding him as I checked out, and after sending an email requesting this to the hotel manager, I have heard nothing. ||The room itself was tidy and comfortable. We had a two bedroom apartment. Apparently there was a pool, but no information was provided at any time about this. I found it on level 7, but we did not use it. I believe there should have been a gym somewhere, based on the advertising, but I have no idea where this might have been. Again, absolutely no facilities information was provided to us - nothing in the room, and no information communicated on check-in. ||No cleaning materials supplied such as a broom, toilet brush, dustpan and shovel, so you cannot easily tidy up after yourself, and there is no housekeeping supplied (we were not there for a full week, I believe it occurs after that). One used toilet roll was available, and we had to go and request more to last us through the visit. A single bin liner was provided in the bin, so we had to ask for more of those as well, so that we could actually keep our room cleaned. We did not use the oven, and the area around the stovetop was quite greasy. ||Minor complaints regarding cleanliness, dissatisfaction with misrepresentation of the booking, but overall, a very good location and room. I will be much happier when they refund me the extra amount I paid, but I have also requested they update the website listing so more people are not misled into ordering something that is not what they expected. There is pretty much no service provided at all, and this is not a 4 1/2 star hotel. I would suggest it should be updated to a 2 star hotel. Honestly, it does not exceed above-average accommodation needs, it does not actually meet them. It really is a budget and comfortable accommodation that meets purpose, but there is no service at all.

I would agree with other reviewers, the Sebel is in an excellent location and service is excellent. However, the facilities are exceptionally run down, carpet worn, paint peeling off, tiles almost falling off bathroom wall, pool tiles broken and cracked. We were very fortunate to have an upgrade from a two bedroom apartment, to a three bedroom apartment, the views from the balcony are stunning. The room had two bathrooms, full kitchen, dining room and lounge. Showers were pretty bad, small, dirty, and water pressure was really bad. Again the location is this selling point, with Westfield at your door and a short walk to the train station. I feel sorry for the staff at Sebel who have to work extra hard for a very run down establishment.

It has been 5 years since we stayed at the Sebel. The experience this time was somewhat disappointing- the room was very “tired” - lots of marks and chips and loose items and appliances- my son had to fix all of the toilet roll holders. There was a gas leak in the kitchen and no instructions on how to work the oven. The shower was awful - getting a reasonable temperature each time was a skill that was learned over the week - it was a very fine line between freezing cold and dangerously hot! Having said that, the bed was very comfortable and lots of space. The location is fantastic and the parking is easy. I think there will have to be some form of refurbishment or upgrade as the experience this time would make us think again the next time we need a Sydney base.

Great location as you are just across the road from Westfield and next door to Mandarin Centre. Everything is just at your doorsteps. Very close to Chatswood station as well. The hotel itself is a bit rundown but the sheets and towels are clean. We got a city view room and we could see fireworks from Darling Harbour on Saturday night. The only downside is they only do housekeeping if you stay for 7 nights or more. Overall will definitely book again when we visit Sydney next time.
