This is the second time I have stayed at Sebel Margate and will be back again. The rooms are stylish but let's face it, we are there because we need somewhere to sleep. The beds here are among some of the most comfortable I have ever slept on.
My wife actually asked me to find the brand of the bed.
The staff are friendly and helpful and breakfast looking over the bay is very relaxing.
We will make sure we are there on a weekend next time as I had told my wife about the rooftop bar only to realise it isn't open during the week.

2 night stay (Fri - Sun). Comfortable contemporary room on the 3rd floor. Clean and well presented. Comfortable bed, satisfying shower. Only one lift meant we were often waiting for a good period for the lift. Once, I walked the 3 floors because the wait was so long including produce deliveries for the pool deck bar. Saturday night sesh on the pool deck was loud enough on the 3rd floor that I was fortunate I wasn't needing to sleep early. A premium price for a nice, but hardly premium stay.

On arrival we were greeted with friendly professionalism, given our room a few hours earlier (bonus). We had the Deluxe King Room with a balcony and view direct to the ocean (perfect!!). The decor was great, comfy outdoor and indoor chairs, comfy bed and pillows. The bathroom was a good size with a very nice shower area. Water pressure could have been better, but okay for our 3 night stay. Good size wardrobes, shelves etc, good blackout curtains. The kitchenette was limited - microwave but no bowl to put things in (for small dinners). Even though we were only 2 of us - having exactly 2 of everything (glass, cup, bowl, plate, cutlery etc) was a bit dumb. Change of drink or different use for item meant we had to clean between uses - really? Rooftop pool was okay (just a lap pool really) and the bar was good when it was open (Friday and weekends). Nice view from the top when having a drink - lovely bar staff!||Big downside - we used the balcony to sit outside on balmy nights - but every time we went back inside to top up a drink, go to the loo etc, the air con turned off - always had to go back, reset to right temp and air control. Really stupid and a pain in the neck every night.||Twice we used the restaurant below - once for hot drinks (took 30 minutes to get them) and once for breakfast (took about the same time) and my scrambled eggs were cold on the outside, warm on the inside, ciabatta bread was toasted but soft. Hubby's breakfast was also not that hot. We didn't complain - didn't have time to wait another 30 or more minutes.

The room was spotless, but all of the pillows were too high. There were no smaller pillows in the room to exchange with. They hurt my neck sleeping on them, and I have had to have chiropractic treatment to correct this.
The restaurant was lovely with a view overlooking the sea. Breakfast was delicious and reasonably priced. The overnight secure parking was great.

We thoroughly enjoyed a last minute stopover for our family with young children during the busy Jan holiday period. Special mention of the Restaurant staff who were engaging and knowledgeable. Reception staff were also very pleasant and helpful.
Rooms are lovely and location is picturesque, and only a short drive from Brisbane Airport.

Just a night one stay in a King room with Ocean views. I paid $380 for this room on a weekday.
For this amount I'd like to see some complimentary bottled water and either some cheese and crackers or plain biscuits. There is tea and coffee making facilities .
I picked this hotel for its location which is right across the road from Margate Beach QLD.
There is a roof top pool but remember to take your room key to access the gate.
A nice restaurant on the ground floor where you can sit inside or outside to take in the beach views.
There are also 2 takeaway shops almost next door if you prefer budget fish and chips or burgers.
The hotel staff were friendly and helpful.
The room itself was roomy and clean and I loved to sit on the balcony with a cool breeze.
Just remember to turn the TV on before you do anything. All the guest information is there to see.

We enjoyed our stay at the Sebel. A lovely, clean nd modern motel. Only downside was the lack of parking. I would be happy to pay to secure a parking spot rather than having to drive down each time and check. We stayed 3 nights and never got a park on any of the nights, therefore had to park out on the street. Would have loved the option of room service in the morning.

We stayed at the Sebel for 2 nights this time- our third visit in recent months. The room was clean and had a good bathroom. There are good walks along the esplanade in both direction and the beach is across the road
