We had a wonderful stay at The Sands Resort in Yamba. Very clean, very comfortable and a helpful team at reception. The apartments are just over the road from the ocean beach and we could see the water and hear the waves, fantastic and relaxing for a beach side break. Secure parking underneath. Close to walks and town. Great place.

Its hard to recommend this accommodation after our recent 3 night stay. It's a good location across from the beach but there is alot of other providers to choose from. It would be reasonable to describe our first night there as horrendous before we were moved to another apartment which was a significant improvement. We are still waiting for the manager to contact us to apologise for what we went through in being placed in the apartment where we stayed the first night.

An issue for the provider is maintenance of the apartments which are privately owned. The second apartment we were in had a gorgeous view and was mostly great but the kitchen was quite outdated.

This resort has alot of stairs to get to the rooms. We found this a challenge to get our bags up and down.

The underground parking is good.

We were given two bundles of keys to manage for the first apartment. This seemed extreme to have so many keys.

The hallways are dated and need a paint.

The apartments are well located, spacious and though dated in some aspects - overall in good condition. However our bed was quite uncomfortable, there was mould on the floors and speakers near the tv, some dust on the bedding, coffee stains on a side table and there should have been more linens/towels. I would have given a higher score if there was not a take your own garbage policy upon checking out as I have some mobility issues. This is why I contacted reception (though I booked through Booking.com using my full legal name) the day before I arrived and was told there would be lift access to the apartment from the car park. My parents couldn’t visit the apartment due to lack of lift access.

Our recent 4 night stay at The Sands was bliss! Corey the manager and Jodie on reception were so accomodating and friendly. Our room was gorgeous and we enjoyed the facilities the resort offered. We hope to visit again in the future 🙂

We had a great stay here! We could see the local dolphins swim past every morning.

The rooms were clean and had everything we needed.

Pool area is great for kids with plenty of pool chairs for the adults.

Friendly and helpful staff.

Would highly recommend if you’re looking for accomodation in Yamba.

I recently stayed at Sands Resort in Yamba for two nights, and it was an excellent experience! Corey and Renee on staff were absolutely lovely, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived.The villa was spotless and well-maintained, everything felt fresh, and the furniture seemed brand new. The amenities were also fantastic: we enjoyed the swimming pool, BBQ area, and tennis courts, which kept the whole family entertained. It's only about an hour from Coffs Harbour, so it’s a convenient getaway spot too. My kids had a great time, and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend Sands Resort for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday!

Great accommodation, very roomy apartment with all the amenities we needed for our stay. Kids loved the pool spa, as we stayed in September and the main pool was still a bit chilly.
Our top floor apartment had ocean views which was nice to wake up to. Just note there are no lifts, so if you book top floor and are parking in the basement you have to walk up 3 flights of stairs, so if you are unfit better to book ground floor.
