The Rix! Flooded with locals during the day and bustling of an evening! I had a room out the back to hide in which was beautiful and comfortable. It was so comfortable that I wish I could've had my dinner for takeaway in my room (maybe a good option for guests who are staying and dont want to be surrounded by people) THE STEAK!? I had the rump, it was HANDS DOWN, the best steak I've ever eaten, and the GRAVY? I'm convinced the chef must have crushed up silk worms as an additive because the gravy danced like silk on my tounge... the staff here are all really spunky and lovely ♡ thankyou the Rix!

Only had a meal not accommodation. Passing through for a one night visit. Googled places to eat to find The Rix.
Friendly staff. Food very good for pub dining. Well presented, perfect medium cooked steak, veg great with a bit of crunch, creamy roasted potaoes. Husband had crumbed steak which was also a great cut of meat served with coleslaw and perfect chips. Good to visit country pubs with quality chefs using good ingredients. Well done.

After a long day on the road, this is a great little rest stop for the night, great beds coffee and tea facilities, Red Rooter and Chinese food across the road and if you get in earlier enough a steakhouse in the pub’s restaurant. When coming through CT again we will definitely stop here again

We stopped in town on our way through , looking for a nice meal. My partner was dressed casual in shorts and long sleeved shirt. When we walked in we asked if it was possible to have a meal. A lady who came straight out of a Cruella De Ville look a like co test looked my partner up and down twice while wringing her hand and told us with the sourest face possible that no it was not possible for us to have a meal there. So incredibly rude and up themselves. Red rooster saved the day. Much better atmosphere and smiley faces at least.

We just came for lunch, just amazing. The steak was sooo yummy. 3 of us ordered steak and they were all cooked perfectly.

One of out party had chicken and it was also amazing.

We ordered dessert and again they were stop.out!!!!

This is a must do when in Charters Towers.

Busy atmosphere and lovely staff. Walked in during lunch it seemed quite busy. We only stayed for a drink but will be returning to try the food! Great service from the lady bartender, even when it seemed to be busy she still served us quickly and was even able to have a chat to us about the raffle game they were playing. Will definitely be back.

After a recommendation from the tourist information centre we booked for dinner at The Rix Hotel. This boutique hotel has great decor and friendly wait staff. We dined here the 2 nights during our stay in Charters Towers the food and service were so good on our first night we decided to dine there on our 2nd evening. We meet the delightful owner Teddy, it is definitely a step above the average pub, delicious food and ambience. It’s advisable to book especially during the busy months. Highly recommend The Rix.
