I always stay here for work travel and have been in a couple of different rooms. I love it! The building is beautiful and always clean. The staff are lovely and check in / out is always a breeze. It’s in a lovely spot with lots of food options and a river side walk in walking distance. I love staying here.

We stayed for one night at The Riversleigh on our way to another destination. The text message instructions about where to locate our room, gain entry and access wi-fi and other guest information was timely and convenient. The room was comfortable and had all needed amenities. The complimentary continental breakfast was lovely and the staff member we spoke with (D) was genuinely friendly and helpful. We'd happily stay here again and recommend to others. The location and setting was relaxing and beautiful. Thanks for a great stay.

No complaints here.
If you're expecting a check in desk... there isn't one. Just read the instructions on the text they send on the day. Getting into your room is easy once you find it.
Building is stunning. I wish they opened the bar at night because the common area is beautiful.
Quiet place. Clean rooms. Close to shops and restaurants. Breakfast is nice - continental.
There's no workers around, but if you call the after hours number, they're very helpful.
I'd recommend this place if you're self sufficient.

Beautiful rooms, nice breakfast, but service not up to scratch for the price. Lack of lift made it a bit awkward getting suitcases upstairs.

Would also suggest installing blockout curtains to assist those who want to sleep past sunrise.

Unusual check-in virtual, never saw 1 staff person ay all even during the continental breakfast.Room plenty big & nice bathroom with jacuzzi bath if you want to use it. Tv on wall could do with fixing in properly as it wss a little wobbly. OK for the 1 night we spent on our drive down to Melbourne.

We arrived yesterday on a Saturday around 3pm during holiday season to find the hotel closed with all lights off. We knocked at the front door that said “reception” without response. Wandering around the building we spotted other guests sitting in the dark hotel bar and asked to use their phone, since we don’t have an Aussie number. The lady who answered the phone could not find our booking immediately (two names, god forbid!) and got rude. Apparently it was our fault that their check-in system only works with a local phone number (they send you a code and instructions via text, which we couldn’t know / were not informed by our travel agency).

We finally got into our room, which was spacious but very dark and dusty (dead insects in the corners everywhere) and worn down.

The staff remained absent, so the bar stayed closed and no one told the guests that were chatting in the courtyard until 1am to shut up.

In the morning of this Sunday, breakfast was set for 8-10am. When we got there at 9:10 the buffet was half empty and of course there was no staff to fill anything up. When the coffee machine ran low on beans it was a guest that looked through the cupboards to find a bag of beans and fill it up.

The building might have a charm to it, but it’s also just old and run down with walls paper thin. At the end of our stay we did see personnel finally - the cleaning staff who entered our room within 1 second of knocking, 5 minutes before check-out time. At least they were friendly and apologised.

Nothing luxurious about this hotel and customer service was just non existent. Needless to say, we do not recommend this hotel and suggested our travel agency to take it off their list as well.

As a traveller from abroad booked through travel agents in the UK we were extremely disappointed with this hotel. On arrival ( after a 6 hour drive) we could not gain access to the hotel or contact anyone easily as there are no staff or reception at this hotel (although signage outside the hotel suggests there is) To cut a long story short is took us another 2 hours to gain access to the room as the hotel emergency number refused to give my agency all the relevant codes to gain access and dispatched a security team from Lakes entrance over 40km to let us in. Supposed to be with us within 30 minutes they took an hour, and even then they struggled to get in.||After refreshing ourselves we went out for something to eat and then came back to the hotel.Would have been nice to have a drink but the bar was locked up and still no staff on site. We went to our room to look at the hotel info and to our horror we found out that there is no staff what so ever at the hotel overnight . This concerned us greatly as emergency instructions stated to assemble in the car park and wait for instructions from Security or Staff (which are non existent) , alternatively dial 000 ( which is not explained in their information as the emergency services in the instructions)||After a restless night in what we felt was a dingy & dark room which smelt musty with paint that needed touching up and a curtain that were not properly attached to the track. In the bathroom there was no plug for the sink and the toiletries were minimal.||My partner & I felt at unease, totally abandoned and didnt see 2 members of staff till breakfast the next day.||Breakfast was average and the hot beverages from the machine were luke warm. Fruit juices were cheap. ||We spoke to the staff and found out that the hotel is managed remotely from another hotel at Lakes Entrance over 40 km away. As a tourist this is unacceptable. Pictures on the website are misleading, the pictures look amazing but in reality it didnt look anything like the hotel. There was graffiti on the fence outside, a restaurant that is closed, bar that is closed despite all signage on the outside of the hotel saying otherwise and the staff saying they have both been closed for months. ||The staff on site have heard all these complaints /concerns from other customers and reported them to the remote management but nothing appears to be done. This is not a 4 star boutique hotel (although it could be if there were staff on site & management that actually cared about the hotel). We left the next morning cutting our stay short as the hotel was so poor.||This has been the most unwelcoming hotel we have ever stayed in !
