One of the most beautiful spots in mackay.The food is always fresh and amazing. The Restaurant is very relaxing by the pool. There is a big pool to accommodate for everyone. Feels like you’re on your own little tropical island. This place is a must to visit, also surrounded by beautiful beaches. Great for Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner or even just a drink to chill. Would be perfect for any function or wedding.10/10 🍹🌴

I had the most relaxing stay at Dolphin Heads Resort last week. The Management and Staff were very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. My upstairs room with an ocean view was spectacular... We ate in the restaurant as well and the food was spot on. Seafood Tower and Chicken with Prawn and Scallop skewers..I can't wait to go back.

Used to be a good public place to go for a nice lunch/afternoon of relaxing around the pool now it’s so strict it just ruins it.
You can’t use the pool unless you are eating/drinking which is totally fine however they made us order food as soon as we arrived when we didn’t want our food then? Can’t even take your food (served in cardboard containers) to the back area to sit and enjoy it. They cramped us into the small area in front of the bar. Once you’ve eaten you finally get access to the pool but have to leave your drivers licence at the bar in order to use itAbsolutely ridiculous, has certainly turned me off ever going back there.
One of the staff members was quite rude and demanding too when enforcing these new rules.

Love this place. We requested for a room by the pool and we surely got a room by the pool and better yet it was right by the beach 👌. Only downside was if there was partition outside just so you can enjoy sitting outside without seeing the next door neighbour.
Other than that our stay at the resort was beautiful 🤩 just not long enough

Over priced, under staffed, food was horrible. Steak chips and salad. Steak was grey and looked like it had been stewed, tuff chewy and tasted could. Could not eat it. Was told kids could go for a swim if we purchased a meal. Finished our meals at 1.45 and was told pool is closed to us and only opened to guests. Do not bother going for food and drinks you will be disappointed

Stayed here a few times in the past but be wary of which room you book, some are very nice, although dated, and some are just awful. The place is also now attracting very rowdy and foul-mouthed guests. The on-site restaurant has poor food and even poorer quality staff service. And from looking at some responses from management to less than favorable feedback it appears they are in denial and don't take on constructive feedback without getting unprofessional in their replies.

I had my wedding here at Dolphin Heads Resort in August 2024. Our wedding turned out to be everything I could've wanted. I did have a wedding coordinator who did the wedding decoration, plus coordination of the event. The day was perfect. The water was glistening, the pool was immaculate and same with the rooms. Staff were accommodating on our wedding weekend. Thank you for our special day/weekend there. Salt Restaurant beautiful food also.

Dolphin Heads resort is beautiful. We love the atmosphere of being able to take your coctails down to the beach and watch the sunset. The staff are always so welcoming and friendly. Tracey treats us like family and the food is very good.
The resturant inside is a little tired and could do with a bit of an update, but the pool is probably the best pool in mackay and with the ambience of overlooking the ocean makes the atmosphere even more special .
Hubby and I visit frequently for dinner, due to being local we have never stayed but love that if you order drinks and a meal you can swim in the pool.
Would love to see more live music like a Sunday sesh at the resort
