We are returning customers. This place is a hidden gem especially when you have a bigger family. We are a family of five and the room is very spacious. The room is clean and equipped with fridge, TV and other necessities.
The pool is nice and jacuzzi is a treat!
The location is convenient and close to many good restaurants. The Reef Retreat itself is tranquil and perfect for real relaxation holiday.
Special thanks to the management. They are very easy to deal with and provide us with help that we would have never expected. The heart warming service really makes us feel like home.
We will come back! Thank you again for the wonderful experience!

We had the best time here at the beginning of our honeymoon. We spent 5 days at the Reef Retreat, loved the closeness to the ocean, shops, ice cream, cafes and restaurants all within very easy walking distance. Loved the quiet atmosphere and the clean pool where we could cool off after a long, hot day in the jungle. If you're looking for a clean, quiet, tropical, beautiful getaway, this is definitely the place for you.

Coming to Reef Retreat after 3 nights at one of the fanciest (and most expensive) hotels in Cairns, we were worried that we had done things the wrong way around and it would feel like a come down. We were so wrong!

As great as the fancy place was, we loved Reef Retreat so much more. The leafy, shaded, relatively quiet pool area was sooo relaxing. We loved walking to the many great nearby restaurants and bars, but also loved cooking on our little balcony (as long as we had bug spray and mozzie coils!!).

The bed was super comfortable and the shower was hot and hard. We had a big wait between normal checkout and our flight so asked about late checkin and we were offered a couple of hours for no charge and even more for a minimal cost (which we gratefully took advantage of), which made our last day in Palm Cove so much better so thank you!

We will hands down choose Reef Retreat next time we come to Palm Cove.

The reef retreat is in a great location just off the waterfront and was nice and sheltered from the constant on-shore wind. The apartment was also clean. |On the down side the accommodation was very basic and quite dated, definitely not worthy of 4 stars as listed - more like a basic Airbnb. The pool area was ok but a bit underwhelming. The worst part though was the attitude of the gentleman on reception. He was extremely rude, literally everything seemed to be too much bother. His grumpy offhand manner and eye rolling were unpleasant and unnecessary. The lady staff member was great though!

Had our work Christmas weekend there for staff and family. Was the perfect venue had privacy and quiet but a great communal area for us to gather in. Place oozes character and the hosts Jim and Joanne went out of their way to provide the perfect weekend. We will be back.

We spent 10 days in a very spacious, well equipped,self contained apartment with big balcony overlooking a tranquil pool and entertainment area, set in a leafy treed retreat. Management was friendly and good to deal with. A special mention and thank you to Alan the grounds manager. He was very helpful to us at various times, in particular he was very knowledgeable with the plants in the area, which was our special interest!

Beautiful apartment, perfect for our stay in Palm Cove. The apartment was spacious and tastefully furnished although a little tired in places. ||The beds were comfortable, along with bedding and pillows provided. ||The kitchen had everything you needed and the laundry facilities were great as Palm Cove was just the start of our tour around the East coast of Australia. ||The apartment was perfect for what we wanted and I’d absolutely recommend it to a family travelling to Palm Cove.||The only draw back I’d say was the pool which looked dirty - not somewhere I wanted to swim in and not somewhere I wanted the kids to go in either which was a shame. It looked as though it hadn’t been cleaned in quite a while. ||The only other drawback was the rather unhelpful man at the reception desk. We arrived late at night and so followed the instructions to get the keys and diligently returned to the reception the following morning to check in. When my husband explained that we couldn’t find a welcome pack, Wi-Fi code etc. he was told that it was definitely there - in an abrupt and generally unhelpful way. We couldn’t find it anywhere and it was only on the last night, when my son found a ‘hidden draw’ in the coffee table, that we finally found it. ||On another occasion, I asked for some advice to book a taxi for a barrier reef trip and again the response of the receptionist was quite negative. I was told that I shouldn’t have booked the trip through Trip Advisor from the UK and made to feel a little idiotic. Reluctantly, help was given and a taxi was booked for us (which I was thankful for) but the customer service was hugely lacking which was disappointing.

This is my favourite Holliday resort, don’t even read the review because I don’t want anyone else to know how awesome this place is.

The service is fantastic, the staff that keep the facilities clean do an amazing job.

The pool and spa are always clean and warm

The rooms are great and as expected in most simple resort style accomodation.

It’s got all the basics, fridge tv and couch.

If you do go and enjoy as much as we did I’m so glad.
