Stopped on my way to Coles Bay to have coffee and ended up having lunch. I ordered seafood chowder which was absolutely delicious, packed with amazing flavours and full of variety of very fresh seafood. This ought to be the best place in Tasmania to get the most delicious seafood chowder!
Their berry ice cream is made with delicious fresh fruit, which elevates the flavours to the next level!
Definitely recommend it to anyone who loves great food!

Only stopped for icecream and souvenirs. Friendly staff and lovely service. Menu quite expensive for older cafe. Lots of frog themed everything. Decorated lovely! Lots of outdoor entertainment and playground for children.

Lovely quirky stop with a wide ranging menu and lots of sitting areas for respite or a rest stop. Souvenirs and guest book available for visitors. They have Asian dishes and seafood available. I tried their cherry icecream in a cup and it was delicious.

It was supposed to be a short stop but was extended because we ordered one more dish to eat. Haha!

We asked one of the locals we met earlier and she suggested we try Pondering Frog for its tasty Asian-influenced cuisine.

Was greeted by the friendly owner when we walked into the shop. Menu looked pretty extensive with some specials of the day at the counter.

Salt & pepper wings to start, then our shared mains were black bean beef and honey chicken, both served with rice. Oh, I liked the honey chicken lots. Crisp batter and sweet. Yums.

We ended with ice cream. The peanut butter dark chocolate coated ice cream was huge!

The new Asian menu was so good specially the lemon chicken and the Mongolian beef were extremely delicious and filling. The interior was also very cute and had many cute frog themed decorations that made the dining experience more enjoyable.

The Black Bean Sauce Beef (AUD $22) is delicious, featuring tender sliced beef flank stir-fried with crisp red onions, tender broccoli, tender carrot, and soft zucchini, in a thick black bean gravy, bursting with smoky meaty savoury salty vegetal earthy sweet flavour.

The Honey Chicken (AUD $22) is tasty, amongst the best renditions I've had. Features crispy tender battered chicken fillets stir-fried with honey in a sweet and sour gravy, sticky and sweet savoury sour honeyed in flavour.

Both dishes are served over fluffy steamed white rice with grainy sweet flavour, nicely addictive.

The young-at-heart all love the Ice Cream Peanut Butter Chocolate Top (AUD $7), featuring creamy smooth peanut butter ice cream with nutty floral sweet flavour, coated in a crunchy firm chocolate shell with chocolatey milky sweet flavour. Among their more popular ice cream options here, this was a delightful dessert to round off the meal.
