Review for Ocean View Apartment Room 203

We stayed in the 2-bedroom ocean view apartment (Room 203) for 14 days and couldn’t be happier with our experience. The view was absolutely stunning, and the comfortable recliners were perfect for relaxing while soaking it all in.

We were in town for our daughter’s surgery, which made for a stressful time, but the host, Sharon, went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. She checked in with us whenever she saw us and provided extra towels and anything else we needed. Her thoughtfulness really stood out.

The location was fantastic, with a short walk to charming coffee shops, a beautiful park, and the beach. It was the perfect blend of convenience and tranquility.

Overall, we were extremely impressed and grateful for the exceptional hospitality. Highly recommended for both short and extended stays!

We recently had a 3 night stay that turned into 1 night as we were meet with the strongest bleach smell I have ever experienced. We had to open up the apartment then leave for a couple hours. The blanket smelt musty and my husband ended up with bites all over his body. We went for a swim but was annoyed by the building next door as they were drilling with loud machines. Overall we were disappointed as the area is lovely.

We stayed in room 303 for 3 days in February 2025. The view of the ocean was lovely and proximity to town & beach were an easy walk. There was some new tile work in the kitchen and bathrooms making the unit look somewhat updated

We struggled with multiple issues in our room which we brought to the attention of the office. They handled a couple items on our list while we were out on an excursion but did not resolve many other issues. The biggest issues were …the master bedroom had an odor so horrible we couldn’t use it, the second bedroom did not smell bad but had 2 twin beds pushed together without an adequate mattress pad to fill the center gap, en-suite bathroom had a jet tub with green corroded jets, main bathroom had a cracked sink glued but still leaking & plugged, both toilets had green corroded flush buttons, washing machine had a moldy seal (IMO should only have a top load in a rental because it’s too hard to air out a front load machine properly) several lights were burned out, chair in living room was dirty & had stains on it, couch was dirty & under cushions needed cleaning.

As cautioned on their website there is construction next door that was extremely loud when we arrived. Thankfully we stayed over a weekend and did not have to hear it the whole time.

Overall this property has potential but needs a lot of cleaning, repair & updating.

I called this place 505pm on Friday I got a after hours centre and I thought wow this is good. They don't make bookings
but they ask for your details and said the office will call you in the morning. I thought ok cool. Its now 4:12 pm the next day and gee no phone call. And I was after a room with my wife for a week. But they must not need the business. I am very disappointed with the no service of this resort.
So a booked esle where and I received fantastic service.

We recently stayed in room 301 for 3 nights, and on the 3rd day the power went out. I contacted reception and was very disappointed with their response. Firstly she said “oh didn’t you see the signs” and “didn’t anyone tell you the power would be out”, then I was placed on hold and then she claimed to not know about the power outage and they were investigating. I had already looked online and confirmed it was a planned outage expected to last from 8:02am - 1pm.

At the time there was huge construction noise (which we were not informed about at any time) and we could not use the pool/bbq/mini golf area during our stay as it was way too noisy, this on top of being woken up at 6am made for an unpleasant stay.

We had no choice on that day to leave the apartment on the day there was a power outage, as by 9am it was too hot to stay inside without the air conditioning and we couldn’t even open doors/windows as it was too noisy.

I was promised a phone call which never came to tell us the power was back on.

Avoid for the next year while construction is on!

what a great place, just a short walk/drive to the shops. We paid $30/night for the executive 2bdr room. It was in a middle on the room floor. The views were wonderful uninterrupted 180° of the coast/beach. It was spacious, Foxtel is included & decent wifi too. The main bedroom has a TV (so the kids quickly grabbed that). The place is air-conditioned (which was actually on when we arrived - I nice touch).

The rooms were modern, the beds comfy (maybe a little on the soft side), plenty of pillows, blankets (not sure qhy you'd need them). Decent fridge/freezer & dishwasher.

The staff were warm, friendly and happy, which is always a nice touch.

The kids enjoyed the pool & a spa after dinner at there is a covered BBQ area, indoor ping pong table & a 6(?) hole putt-putt golf course (bats, clubs balls in the cupboard near the ping-pong table).

Like most people we were here to see the turtles. it's a 5-10min drive away. 5 mins to little shopping centre (Woolies, Aldi & an awesome bakery).

I would certainly stay here again. Oh the kids loved the resident green tree frogs hopping around the inside garden.

And Charlie on reception is very cheeky, and nothing is too much trouble.

406 a room with great ocean views, however the king bed was terrible. Two rock hard old king singles pushed together. I asked staff to supply additional blankets to help pad out the mattress. That didn’t really help.
Factor in the price of a chiropractor when staying there.

Well this is a on site management set up with investors owning units for rental so no real standard set as far as we could see. We stayed in unit 203 for six days and this unit lacks anything comfortable or modern and we had a few live in cockroaches 🪳🪳🪳. Beds were old inner spring and lumpy and uncomfortable, appliances were old and crockery of all sorts with unit cleanliness on average at best. No smart TV only tv with vucast which uses our data which is fine but better having smart tv and I can tether my phone not a problem. Only 1 satchel of dishwasher liquid and 2 bin liners provided for 1 week. On leaving the vacuum the vacuum cleaner was broken & useless. I know management will say why didn't you speakbut I am sure they can't do an instant fix. This unit below comparable places we have stayed at and will book elsewhere for our next visit given the prices charged. Sadly Point Resort lacks love and upkeep by shareholders.
