So happy that we stopped here on our way up the coast! Super friendly service and great spot on the river. Great coffee as well but the stand out was the food. The seafood linguine was exceptional, and the eggplant katsu sandwich was super flavourful. Will absolutely be stopping in again next time we’re in town!

Beautiful cafe. Nestled among gorgeous big trees, great for shade & looking over the Maclay river at Kempsey. The most friendliest staff, & produce is local. Ah yes one of the best scones I have had also, with delicious homemade jam. Highly recommend ?

New venue with really enthusiastic staff.

The eggplant is incredibly tasty, but everything we got was really good (pork schnitzel, scotch egg, croissants).

Coffee is solid. Really interesting brew that takes a couple of sips to get going, but very easy to drink, and definitely worth a look.

This was a bad experience
We had been out in Kempsey and saw the sign on the road
We called in It was 1pm and we asked if there were any tables
Suddenly a very grumpy Gordon Ramsay style chef snarled at us
Have you booked
What do you expect Its 1 0 clock
you can have one of those two tables, but you can’t have an umbrella
There were 10 other diners
The two female wait staff were lovely
After 45 minutes of waiting, we were served up our snapper
Mine was served with great lumps of cucumber literally a whole half unsliced cucumber as part of my accompaniment
And my husband‘s fish was raw
The place was generally untidy with the dustpan and brush flying nearby and a umbrella on a stand that had fallen over
They are just counting on the fact that they’re on the river. I would never go there again.

Wonderful location by the river is this historic house, now reopened as a Cafe with river views and relaxing ambience in the garden.
Food is tasty and the service is top notch.
Due to increasing and well deserved popularity, you may want to book, especially on weekends!

Beautiful setting, excellent service, exceptional food! Great find on our road trip from Penrith to Coffs. Already recommending to friends, hope to drop in again in the future. Thanks to Daniel and Kenny for making our lunch with friends ( 6 of us) so special! Good luck with your new venture!

Had the most enjoyable morning in the garden enjoying friendly, enthusiastic and inviting service, wow so refreshing. The food was FRESH AND FLAVOURSOME, I had tomato and fetta the other members of our party had a variety of dished and all were worthy of coming back and doing it again....
Well done I will look forward to driving the hour and half to do it again... highly recommend.
