I had two lovely meals there: the food was very well prepared with great ingredients. The service was solid. Sitting upstairs for a Sunday lunch, the volume and atmosphere was perfect. On Thursday night the noise was too high and we had trouble hearing each other, though the vibe was good.

The Sunday roast is always on point here, I had it now on several occasions and it definitely it’s the spot. The atmosphere is pumping and vibing. Definitely a must try 🤩

It was my husband's birthday today, and we decided to stop by for a quick drink in the afternoon. We decided to book a table for dinner with our daughter, as it had been a while since we dined here. Opting to sit outside due to the pleasant weather, we were delighted by the amazing food. Personally, I thoroughly enjoyed my fish dish, and the service was top-notch. We look forward to returning soon!

Great place to get some food, really friendly staff and good atmosphere.

I got the Sunday dinner, which was really nice but little things could’ve made it even better. The gravy was very minimal, for the portion size I would say you need double or triple the amount given. The vegetables also had an interesting aftertaste, kind of a citrus taste which almost made them sour.

Other than that, all great!

Wow! By far the best roast we’ve had in Sydney! Top quality meat, super crispy mouthwatering roasties, the best Yorkshire of my life and fresh veggies. 10/10 would highly recommend.

Lovely pub. We came for the roast, both ordered the rotisserie chicken.

Let this be your warning that you may need to take out a small loan for this venue.

We ordered 2 roasts, a side of carrots & 1 coke zero. The bill came to $119…

The food was quite tasty, definitely one of the best roasts around Sydney, although the bar is low. Chicken was tasty but very small, perfectly crispy roast potatoes but under seasoned, green veg was nice and seasoned appropriately. You get enough gravy too despite what some reviewers here are saying.

Overall, quite nice but exorbitantly priced. My arm was hanging off me at the end trying to cut the meat from the bone of the awkwardly cut 1/2 chicken. Can’t comment on the drinks selection as we didn’t order one as we would’ve had to take out a small mortgage in order to pay the bill at that stage. Probably what you can expect from Merivale in Sydney.

Walked in on a windy, rainy lunchtime, staff were very helpful and attentive.
Food was very tasty and generous serves.
Highlights were the 1/2 roast chicken, sirloin with snails, green beans and walnuts along with the crispiest roast potatoes.
