Saltbush – A Must-Visit in Broken Hill

This place seriously blew me away. From the moment I walked in, I could feel the great energy — warm, welcoming, and genuinely special. The staff are next level: friendly, attentive, and you can tell they really care about what they do.

The vibe inside is classy but relaxed, with beautiful little touches everywhere — even the restroom felt thoughtfully designed.

The food? Absolutely delicious. Every dish felt like it was made with love and intention. They handled dietary preferences effortlessly and made me feel completely looked after as a vegan. Thank you so much

Huge respect to Chef Lee— you can really feel her passion in everything that comes out of the kitchen.

Saltbush isn’t just a restaurant, it’s an experience. If you’re in Broken Hill, make the time to come here. It’s something special.

Wow, wow, wow.
We were a group of 4 and were greeted by Nathan and Bec on arrival.
So happy and welcoming, the service was faultless, the food was the same, the decor amazing, even the little sitting room in the ladies toilet was just gorgeous.
This place is such a gem and you won't find another eatery in Broken Hill that comes close.
We will definitely be back

Our first time at the Saltbush Restaurant and it was absolutely amazing. I'm a very fussy eater and usually stick to what I know, but the taste of different flavours and presentation of our meals was to die for. This is now our favourite restaurant by far and would highly recommend to everyone. Staff were very friendly, helpful and made our night very enjoyable. Both went home with full bellies and were highly satisfied 😃🙂

Best food that can be had in Broken Hill, prepared with care and pride. The service was also really attentive, prices completely reasonable.. Chef Lee also spoke to each table individually and the passion that she has for her craft is clear. We will definitely be coming back. We were lucky to get a table at the very last minute and recommend booking.

This place has the best food in town👏. I had the best beef wagyu steak on mash and veg, with Shiraz juice, wow absolutely amazing quality, very tender, juicy and flavourful loved it😁👍😋 for dessert had a tasty and healthy GF quandong pie with delicious ice cream, very good different flavours and textures, sweet and creamy😍nice atmosphere, comfortable setting, good lighting, good service, lovely and friendly staff and great chef, thanks heaps guys. Had a really good birthday experience. Highly recommend here.

We were recommended this gem by a local businessman and he’s recommendation was spot on. The entire experience was first class. We had made a mistake on our booking date and even though they were fully booked they managed to accommodate us. To top it all off Chef Lee came out to meet and greet every one of her customers and wow that blew us away and was the highlight of our night. What a woman. If you’re in Broken Hill this restaurant is a must.

We stayed an extra night in Broken Hill to enable us to dine at The Old Saltbush. Delightful evening with beautifully presented food, attentive waiting staff, and Chef Lee is not only the solo chef with an apprentice but when we were going to be late as we couldn’t access a taxi or Uber, offered to pick us up! Highly recommend The Old Saltbush. My only suggestion would be the waiting staff not collect the plates until the entire table has finished their course. Thank you Lee and your team, Sue
