What an absolute gem of a place! It’s even more better than the photos, We can’t thank Richard enough for his hospitality! He spent time running through the history of the old chaff mill and his experience creating this beautiful space.
From the locally sourced sourdough and cheese platter on our arrival to the guide book of local places to visit. This place was everything and more. We thank you for the memories.

I stayed at the Old Chaff Mill the night before my wedding with my bridesmaids, and then the night of the wedding with my now husband. Our stay was incredible. I cannot imagine a better place to stay for such a special time.
The place is immaculate! Richard and Bernice have such an attention to detail in terms of the actual building, but also all of the small touches throughout the place like the fresh sourdough, homemade jams, bath bombs, stocked pantry, house slippers, the list goes on!
I cannot recommend staying here enough, and we will be back to celebrate our anniversary in the future!

Was surprised by how generous the presentation of our accommodation was . From a warm welcome , a fridge full of goodies and a bathroom full of luxury to the best peaches we have ever eaten . It’s central to a great area to explore but has a beautiful tranquil setting which compliments a great stay. Hostess Bernice is fabulous bob millar

Definitely stay here. The Granary apartment was amazing - Richard and Bernice are fabulous hosts and this place was top drawer. Wonderful architecture with lots or nice touches. Although there was a stunning panoramic view from the room, balcony and bathroom the place felt exceedingly private. Having coffee and later wines out on the Juliet balcony was special. If we ever come back to the McLaren Vale area we would stay here again for sure.

We had an amazing time staying in Millery, Richard (owner) welcomed us and gave us tour and history behind the property, which made it very personal, also prepared the local produce beautiful platter, and wine that Richard produced.

Well what a magnificent stay we had. The very best of everything. The most beautiful restored building I've stayed in, absolute luxury, such attention to detail is outstanding. Little surprises to delight throughout...the building is extraordinary and then there is the bath, the views to the vineyard upstairs and all the little things...the record player and old records, the flowers by the bed, the nibble plate and wine, port for a nightcap, the coffee, the water feature outside, the bath bombs and salts, locally made and organic bathroom soaps etc, and just how they've restored a piece of history, keeping so much of the Mill and then adding little bits of who they are to the place add to it's charm. Simply exquisite. Thank you Richard for your very kind hospitality, the tour of the place at the beginning of our staying to fully appreciate the history and restoration and to point out all the features of the place was lovely too, we felt very welcome and special to stay here.

We had high expectations when we booked the Old Chaff Mill as I had read the reviews however it totally exceeded them. This is such a unique building in a fantastic location that has been lovingly restored by Richard & Bernice. Its their attention to detail that makes the stay so much more pleasurable. The building is magical and we had 4 wonderful nights there. We are planning to come back to Australia in 2026 so will stay at the Old Chaff Mill again when we visit the region. Richard and Bernice are very engaging and excellent hosts. Would highly recommend its definitely worth a visit.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Old Chaff Mill. From the moment we arrived sleep were greeted with a smile and so many beautiful little extras which made the stay so nice. The hosts have gone above and beyond to make everything so comfy and luxurious. The nice thing too is that it is so private. Even though there is glass everywhere we never once put the blinds down and we walked around naked the whole time. It was just beautiful… ha ha! We will definitely be going back! Thanks once again Richard and Berenice.
