I spent the night at The Mouses last weekend. Despite the rain, it was very cozy in the chalet. Nice to sit around sipping tea by the fireplace and enjoying the sound of nature. It's not a very long drive from the busy parts of the Gold Coast, it is nice to find such a nice place here. Would definitely visit again!

Myself and my partner were lucky enough to have stay in the Sleepy chalet for 3 nights. This place is so relaxing and worth every cent. The running creek and the beautiful nature just hits the spot. The Sleepy chalet is very spacious and has everything you need except food but you purchase food packages so you don't have to leave. On our last night we organised a couples massage through Springbrook massage therapy. Two beautiful ladies by the name of Tanya and Chrissy came to us. Once again we didn't have to leave. They were very professional and made us feel very comfortable. Highly recommend their services ?
It's ashame we have to move on.

We stayed in ā€˜Sleepy Chalet’ at the Mouses House Rainforest Retreat for 2 nights recently. It’s situated in a beautiful rainforest with a very pretty little creek running through the property. The cabin had quite a strong smell when we arrived late in the day which didn’t completely go after lots of airing. It smelled like it had been closed up for a long time. There was a decanter (of port?) that was about half full. Nice gesture but who drinks from an open decanter? An unopened piccolo would have been at least sanitary.
The bed in the loft was old and uncomfortable and there were so many spiderwebs that my son and his wife couldn’t sleep up there. They slept on the lounges downstairs which were not very comfortable and not their idea of a holiday. The downstairs bed was also really hard and not comfortable for sleeping. On the positive side we had ordered the BBQ pack and the breakfast basket and both were really excellent.
Locally there are lots of walks and lookouts to visit and fortunately the weather was perfect. The Springbrook Research Observatory is worth a visit if the sky is clear and there are a few little shops around with local produce. A great few days in a beautiful area but sleepless nights. We really only needed the cabin for eating and sleeping. It had an excellent kitchen but very poor sleeping facilities. It has plenty of potential but I would try somewhere else next time.

We first came to the Mouse’s House in 1999 for our honeymoon, we were excited to come back for our 25th Anniversary.
Last time we were in Doc, had a great time but used it as a base to do all the fun stuff the GC has to offer which made it a lot of time in the car!
This time we took more of a relaxed approach, booked Prince Charming with the indoor and outdoor spa and spent some time chilling as well as taking in some more local sights.
We knew from last time to make sure we did our shopping before we got there, made sure we planned our meals and then we didn’t need to head out again.
With the renovations going on next door it was a little tough to feel the complete seclusion but understand the show must go on!
Strangely got a map sent the day of arrival that has us confused as our car park was in the visitors, probably needs an update while the new development occurs.
The chalet was well appointed, very comfortable and the outlook over the stream was amazing…
Possums only came out one night but they were around, didn’t see the crayfish this trip but a beautiful wallaby as we were departing was a surprise.
Owner was polite and helpful, especially when the gas bottle ran out for the BBQ while I was cooking the Pork Belly for our anniversary dinner ?
Weather is amazing in the Hinterland in December, Cicada mating season so there is a lot of noise but it’s beautiful there so worth it.
Kitchen was well laid out with an electric frypan, blender and the usual stuff. The coffee machine isn’t great so I missed good coffee, would have been better buying the pods from reception than buying a box from the supermarket.
Bathroom was really updated, very clean and nice to use - I did take advantage of the outdoor shower a few times to get close to nature!
We will be back once the renovations are finished, won’t be 25 years next time!

Wow, what a great place to stay! My partner and I stayed here for our little honeymoon.

We stayed in the wicked witch and it was just gorgeous, nothing better then getting cozy next to the fire and hearing the water run down the river.

The staff at the mouses houses were excellent!

I'd highly recommend the mouses houses for a nice quiet retreat, to spend time with your partners.

Highly recommend a stay at The Mouse’s house for a total romantic, relaxing break. We stayed in the Prince Charming Chalet for my wife’s birthday. Wayne was very friendly and helpful, the accommodation was extremely comfortable and well appointed with everything to make your stay enjoyable. The Chalets are well spaced so you have ultimate privacy and the only visitors are the wildlife. We are already preparing for another visit.

My partner and I stayed here for his birthday/our anniversary. It was incredible, I didn’t realise I booked when the sauna and hot tub were being renovated which sucked because that would’ve made the stay! But I’ll know for next time, we will definitely be back!

Spent a beautiful night here for our 17th wedding anniversary. Chalet was so welcoming and cosy. Hot tub and view was awesome. Cute touch with the port and 2 little glasses. Everything we needed for a little getaway.. Will definitely be returning. Thank you!
