No Compassion shown here with Bernadine at all. My partner had come from the medical centre off Hamilton Island to Proserpine Hospital. It was a horrible day weather wise, just rain and overcast. I were recommended by a nurse to get to Mackay after discharge. Marco Polo is a nice place. I phoned and told Bernadine my circumstances , that I were hoping to get there later that evening. My partner circumstances changed and more scans and x-rays needed to be done. We will be at least another 3 hours. I phoned to say I couldn’t make it, it would be late and I didn’t want to drive in the dark, it’s raining. it had been a stressful day. I find a room near the hospital for myself, then to read my emails to find i had been charged $143 at the Marco Polo. I emailed no response. I rang the following day, waiting for a reply from head office were her words. I rang again no refund is possible!!!! I am back home in Victoria now and have enjoyed some beautiful HONEST hospitality along the way. Beware booking this property - they do not care what your circumstances maybe. They just think of their occupancy rate!!

Stayed in Room 31 up top. Very tidy and large room. Open up the windows at night and enjoy the fresh breeze through the place. Bed was king and very comfortable.
You get planes landing overhead but won't bother ya sleep. Pool is adequate to cool down. Shallow end isnt very shallow, keep that in mind.
Plenty of parking undercover. Restaurant always seemed busy.. but never got around to trying it
room service were very friendly.
Overall.. was one of my nicer hotel/motel stays in mackay.
Just a jump across the road to KFC if you love that and fairly close to everything in general.
Washer and dryer $4 gets you 30mins per machine.

Newly renovated.
Nowardrobe to put any clothes, no shelves, no storage in the bathroom.
Heard they renovated to sell and its obvious that they don't give a single shut about making people comfortable or providing anything to make the room functional.
Had to take the ironing board off its hook just to hang one outfit and use the ironing board to hold a few clothes. Can't even call the pillows proper pillows.

How disappointing. We stayed in an executive family room. It was dirty, broken and disgusting. 5 of us in a small room with seating for 2! Coffee machine was broken, as too the iron, light cover and shower head. So dirty I could write my name on the dust on the shelf. Curtains were missing hooks. Fridge needed defrosting. Emailed our concerns and got no response from them. Never again.

Really annoyed that the price they charged me was $90 more than that nights room rate when I looked afterwards. Annoys me that motels take advantage of people who don’t book ahead because they like to check out first. The room was not worth what we did pay. Bathroom needs a thorough overhaul. Just very budget, only redeeming feature the bed was ok.

Easy access to ground floor rooms. Accommodation is clean and spacious with comfortable beds, easy chairs and good space in bathroom. |Could not hear noise from the highway outside but there was an occasional plane landing as this hotel is on the flightpath to Mackay airport.|Plenty of restaurants in area - about 5 minutes drive.

Very good location easy to access, friendly staff in reception and easy to deal with. What my concern is the parking, we parked our car outside due to someone used our parking space in front of our room for overnight. What we found very dusty are the ceiling fan, the display on the wall near the bed and the window in the toilet. Please give attention to the housekeeping..

We stayed here for a night after a day of driving. We weren't expecting much but was pretty disgusted with what we got. It was so gross I felt like bathing in disinfectant after. The top of the microwave was rusty, the lamp was covered in mould, as we're both aircon units. There were previous guests hair left all over the shower. The toilet window had a bit of cardboard and duct tape covering the top half of the window. The sheets had blood stains on them and the chairs were so grotty we wouldn't sit on them and there was a Dorito chips left in the button hole of the bedhead.

Adding a few cheap decorations does not count as a refurbishment. The aircons wouldn't go below 23 and the room was extremely hot and stuffy. The single beds wheels didnt lock so everytime my son moved, the bed would inch across the room. The ONLY good thing about the room was the king bed, at least that was comfortable but even that had a disgusting, very questionable stain. Would not stay here if it was free.
