We had a wonderful stay at The Macquarie Hobart. The hotel has a lovely old-world charm, so if you’re into character-filled places with a bit of history, this one’s for you. As expected with older buildings, not everything is flawless, but that’s part of the charm. The beds were really comfortable, and the bathroom felt clean and recently updated.

The staff at this place were also so great — they were genuinely friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. They really made us feel at home.

Despite being located just off a busy street, the place was incredibly quiet—we felt like we had it all to ourselves. Overall, it was a peaceful, charming stay and excellent value for money. Would definitely stay again!

Stayed here as part of a group of 10 before and after a multi day hike. Loved the feel of the heritage building. A much nicer vibe than a run of the mill hotel. The rooms were massive, the lounges had a cigar lounge / exclusive club vibe. The included continental breakfast was a decent spread too. A great location too, easy walking to the CBD, harbour and Salamanca market area

We stayed in the family suite for the first night of our family holiday. The suite is in the basement and was large and extremely comfortable. The age and atmosphere of the hotel was an exciting experience for us all and set the tone for the rest of our trip. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Unique period building and internal features. Rooms very comfortable, spotlessly clean. Friendly and helpful staff. |Minutes from the wharf with a fine selection of restaurants. |Sky bus stops opposite at the Doubletree so it’s good for the airport.

The most beautiful accomodation in the best location. Every was exceptional - service, cleanliness, room comfort and the breakfast. The Wine Bar was also great each evening. The staff provided excellent suggestions for additional things to do and great places to eat. Will most certainly return!

Nice big room with 3 beds and a very high ceiling. Convenient to the CBD but quiet because the room was set well back from the street. Good breakfast, which we were able to start a bit before the official start time (7am), which helped us be on time for an early tour. Very good communication with the hotel before our stay, including how to check in after hours.

A very nice old world small hotel with very large rooms walking distance to the city and the Docks Area and Salamanca. They provide a very nice moderate breakfast and nice lounge area to relax and read. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Definately a good value hotel. Beautiful inside. Staff were friendly and quiet room. Breakfast was welcomed. Close to everything. Walked to Salamanca Markets.
