I loved staying here, the rooms are cosy perfect for a one or two night stay. The room was so clean and fully equipped with a kettle, tea, coffee, milk and hairdryer. The personal little touches of a chocolate on our bed was beautiful and the service was great. We booked a standard room and we loved the view of the courtyard it was lovely. We had lunch there which was great and a nightcap of Cocktails when we got home from checking out Newcastle. The location was perfect too, the light rail was right at our door and the ferry was close too, so many cafes, pubs and restaurants around the area, we’ll be definitely back. I would highly recommend this place it was awesome.

My partner and I dined in the restaurant last Sunday. We ordered the roast dinner, warm olives and chicken wings. It was our first time dining here and we absolutely have no complaints. We enjoyed our experience that much we rushed back this week. The food was so tasty !

Tonight for our entree we ordered baked mussels which were extremely dry and no flavour whatsoever, along with warm olives (we ordered this last week also) they were stone cold.

For our mains I ordered chicken tacos - which again were stone cold. My partner ordered the hot Nashville burger which had no kick or spice. I am from the UK and can’t handle my spice so for me to not have the slightest kick was a disappointment.

Perhaps the head chef wasn’t there tonight and the standard was dropped ? Seems different kitchen staff on than last Sunday.

Unfortunately we won’t be rushing back again as we don’t want to try our luck to end up dissatisfied.

So happy with our choice, we stayed for one night. The rooms were very clean. We had dinner downstairs in the pub. They have fantastic menu.
Everything we had was delicious, steak perfectly cooked. Fantastic atmosphere live music on Friday night. Highly recommended.

Lovely pub lunch with my son.
Service was friendly, meals were delicious and reasonably priced.
Although strange to only have soy milk for coffee?( I didn't die).
Variety of spots to eat lunch, cosy intimate tables to outside areas.
Great atmosphere with colourful and well stocked drinks bar.
Ceiling consisted of chandelier drums ( yep that's what they were!) .
Tram stops virtually outside the door.
Would definitely come here again.

We stayed one night on a Thursday, great place very clean and compact. Located near most things an easy walk to Nobbys Beach. The food was good yes the drinks were on the expensive side but that seems to be what’s happening in most pubs these days. Would I stay again? Definitely.

Had lunch here today. Chicken schnitzel was one of the best I have had. Lots of flavour and nice and crunch. Lunch came out really fast. Next time would just like a little more gravy but I will be back again next time I’m in Newcastle.

The Lucky hotel is in a good location to explore the city of Newcastle. Very close to the river front walk and across the street from a light rail station which makes it easy to get to the main train station.|The rooms are spacious, well equipped and very clean. Tea and coffee are also provided in the room. The large bed was extremely comfortable. It was also easy to connect my devices to the TV.|I ate one meal in the restaurant (fish and chips!) and it was excellent. Good choice of beer too.|Some reviews mentioned the noise and yes, it's a busy weekend venue so take that in consideration. Although the noise did intrude into the room a bit, I did not find it a problem for me. If you require silence to sleep maybe this is not the place for you. On the other hand, if you like a lively and fun place, go for it.

The most gorgeous old building, really done up well. Drinks were expensive but could not fault the room. Apart from the toilet roll being behind you! Great shower. Very clean. Was a Wed night so was not noisy. Comfortable bed. Will definitely stay there again
