I have no idea why people accept the flaws and beauty in apartments and buildings in Europe but not Australia, The Last Villa is reminiscent of the history of Hobart and a unique boutique hotel; and I do love a boutique hotel. My daughter and I stayed for four nights in the Paris apartment with wonderful views across the bay. After a week of trekking through National Parks and travelling the width and breadth of Tasmania, it was wonderful to just relax. Away from the tourist locations, the hustle of the centre Hobart. The Last Villa is quirky, it is decorated in a Retro Bohemian decor that I found charming. The Villa reminded me of an apartment I stayed in Italy, with it's history, architectural beauty and charm. ||The Last Villa is not for everyone. If like me, you would prefer to stay somewhere different than the usual chain hotel. This may be an option. I would and most likely will stay again.

We stayed at the "Last Villa" for two nights β€”||In the cruise ship during Dark Mofo and had an exceptional time ! It was really nice to find such a spacious , beautiful place just minutes drive from Hobart. Furthermore the quality of light , and views in the morning through the large bay windows are gorgeous. Steve's also a bit of a character and super friendly and pretty relaxed. Definitely have to come back and try one of the other apartments. Great place !

If you want perfect, uncluttered, sterile surrounds on your next adventure then The Last Villa is probably not for you; but if you love walking into an apartment and feeling as though you are visiting a friend's home then Cruise Ship would be a great choice for your next Hobart trip. My best friend and I went on a mini adventure to Tasmania and we are much happier staying in places that have character; where we can return from a day of markets, galleries or shopping and hang out as though we are at home. We both loved the eclectic dΓ©cor, the comfy beds, the view from the sunroom, and the space; two nights was just not enough. The owner of this establishment has saved and revitalised an iconic garage; and instead of turning it to rubble and building a modern eyesore in an older suburb he has transformed it into unique apartments that sit comfortably in the landscape; they are interesting, quirky, individual spaces; we loved our stay.

We stayed 4 nights in the Rubix Cuban, down the stairs at the back of the property. Loved it! Private and peaceful, individually decorated, quirky and definitely different. Very European, like Hobart. Great location in Sandy Bay, close to restaurants, river and the city. The only negative is that there is only a double bed, this makes it suitable only for a single person, unless you're young besotted lovers!

Stayed in Barcelona Villa, which was a funky spacious Villa. We enjoyed a large fully equipped kitchen & large lounge area. Owner was very responsive and replace a broken toaster so quickly. Close to Hobart and we felt very at home, with the magazines, CDs, books and DVDs provided.

We spent two glorious nights in The Penthouse apartment enjoying the eclectic mix of Art Deco, retro furnishings and interesting artwork all comfortably at home in this beautiful old building which has been lovingly renovated by one of Tassie's leading creative architects. The view of the Derwent River from the Juliet balcony is to die for and your only minutes from Battery Point and Hobarts city highlights.

Where to begin. The place has the potential to be lovely. We stayed for 4 nights in the Barcelona. On arrival we could not find anyone so we went away and came back later with no one still there. The contact number we were given was disconnected so it took us a while to find the correct number. Once we rang the owner/architect/manager his first words were I should have sent you instructions, and yes you should of, he then proceeded to tell us that no one else had issues with no idea of how to check in. From the reviews I have read and the other people staying that is not this case.||We met some people staying in another unit only to find that our booking was nearly given to them even when we had booked in August the previous year.||Place needs a clean up and some love and some money reinvested to make it nice. You can hear noise from the roof and other units. It seems the owner is taking advantage of a shortage of accomodation in Tassie and putting the price up, he should think about using that money to improve it and also improve his people skills. A manager for the property would be good so that you can easily get in, no point in blaming past managers as I don't think you are doing a good job yourself. I would come back with improvements but would not pay the current prices for the units in their present condition. It did not match what we were promised
